Funnily enough I had the exact same problem the other day. I had this group send me all these notifications from people I never knew. I don't know what button I pushed but I managed to leave the group. If only leaving the JWS was so easy.

What Happened to the Religion I Left in 1995?

glad to know this site is here.. i would not be writing this if it were not 2014. i was a ministerial servant and regular pioneer who left the jehovahs witnesses back in 1995/96, around that time.
i left suddenly, didnt fade away, just left when something clicked one day in my head during the morning shower and made me realize this religion wasnt true.

Oh one more thing you forgot Josh Jeffries. We are now set up as a hirachy just like the catholic church. Apparently now we have a Pope who gives the commands to it members. Google "Menlo park kingdom hall" to find out more.

Are we starting to treat DF people differently?
by Quarterback insome may remember the time when the private study edition of the wt wasn't to be made available to outsiders, and the df'd.. now, with the recent boe letter, sept 1, 2014, it specifically states that jw.org is making the km available even for df'd individuals.. do you sense a new trend developing?.

I can't see them doing away with shunning. Its to interwoven into the culture to turn back now. I really don't think the could afford to. How do you explain to a family member that it ok to talk after years of ignoring them. There would be a lot of angry people who would walk out in mass.

it's long but reveals the emotions one experiences as they wake up and realize how much they've been misled and lied to by the organization who claimed to represent god.. thankfully jennifer's dad never gave up trying to give her a rewarding and fulfilling life.

I think you missed the point. I don't have a problem with jehovah, jesus Christ, or his commands set out in the bible. I take my issue with a group of men sitting in NY. I think you are showing a very disobedient attitude by ignoring the faithful slaves directions by blatantly engaging with apostates.

It's funny how my mind works since walking out of the Hall just a bit over a year ago. For some reason I just can't seem to bring myself to go to the jw.org site. I find it just to painful. Honestly I just find it traumatic. I still have dubbie f/book acuaintances who I am happy to talk to but that jw.org I just can't do it. I know I should, just to reference things and to confirm what I have been told is correct but I would much rather be lied to on an apostate site than have to go to jw.org to confirm its true. That's the fear the jw.org URL puts into me. Anyone else have the same problem.

Telephone Conversations Today with 2 Elders Re: Shunning - Or Not?
by abbasgreta inmy alcoholic and aged jw mother is now extremely ill and is being cared for in every respect by my non-jw brother.
3 sisters visited him yesterday and were adamant.
that i (disassociated and shunned by her for nearly 3 years) was able to 'visit her any time' and that ' there was nothing to stop me seeing her' as long as i. didn't discuss spiritual things with her.

I have read experiences of disfellowshiped ones who the first time they found out that a close love one had died was when they read about it in the paper. So the elder really doesn't understand his own BS when he talks about someone who never saw a dieing family member.
