WTBT$ and natural disasters- do they get paid to do the repairs?

when there is a natural disaster in the us, we always hear about the wtbt$ rushing in and doing all sorts of repair work for the local jw's and even for "worldly" neighbors.

a zillion examples of this in the katrina hurricane aftermath, various major floods around the country, tornadoes, fires, etc.

on the surface, this sort of charitable assistance appears to me to be one of the few truly loving and charitable things the wtbt$ ever gets involved with, and certainly all the volunteer jw's who work so hard doing this work deserve credit for their efforts.

How does WTBT$ get away with not filing a public financial statement?

i have often wondered how the wt gets away with this.

every other "non-profit" or charitable group i know of that takes in donations, has a board, etc must publicly show how they spent their money, how many donations have been given, their assets, etc.

even the individual congregations read the accounts each month and post them on the bulletin board.

Its a very obvious behavior proving they are a secretive false group.

You should go to the Seventh Day Adventist web site for a example of full disclosure.

Seriously considering stepping down as Elder

i have been an elder for 6 years.

it's been the last 2 years or so that i've really seen the hypocrisy, but the ability to know the shenanigans of the society through the body of elders letters has kind of kept me in there.

i'm to the point now that i can't stand the hatred and bitterness that the body of elders has towards myself and my whole family.

A "follow up" meeting?!?!

well, now they want a follow up visit!

when you tell the elders that you have doubts and they say " its okay, we have had our doubts.

having doubts is not apostasy.

Even the cool ones can turn on you in a instant.

Cancel visit . They cannot and will not answer your questions .

They might try to see where you got your questions . Are you visiting apostate websites .

They desparately want to blame someone or something and give you a label they can mentally process .
