so, i left about 5 years ago and at that time, the official ruling on number of members was a little over 6 million.

i google jw out of boredom the other day and find they are now claiming 8 million members.

sooooo.... hold on 2 million increase in 5 years?

Massive growth in numbers? A couple of million? Let's put that into perspective shall we?

The Org.. which has millions of cult foot soldiers plodding round the planet nonstop 24/7 peddling the most widely published magazine in the history humankind in every country on earth with a 130 year head start.

Result? A couple of million more cult members.

Now. Facebook.. which does nothing to promote itself.. has no literature or magazine or no promotion whatsoever..

Yet, by the end of 2013, Facebook boasted 1.23bn monthly active users worldwide, adding 170m in just one year. According to Facebook, 757m users log on to Facebook daily, as of 31 December 2013.

Now that's what I would call Massive Growth.

while i do not argue the stand of atheism (because as a jew i find it totally logical and acceptable), i have noticed that there are odd carryover preconceptions about scripture that some hold as axiomatic about the bible (at least the hebrew texts), misconceptions that have nothing to do with the jewish scriptures themselves.. so regardless of what you may think of scripture, whether you believe it is of g-d or not, i thought some of you might enjoy a reference to see how much the watchtower teaching on scripture might still be influencing the conclusions you are making today...at least about the tanakh.

jews read their texts acknowledging the following:.

1. no scriptural concept of original sin.

I wrote to the managers of the Raymond Franz site where the pdf's in several languages are sold and they told me that Commentary Press had promised them that they would undertake the printing of hard copies but have never fulfilled their promise

Several years ago Commentary Press promised to sell new printed books of Crisis of Conscience. But since Ray and his wife are dead, they seem no to accomplish this promise
