  OT- Anybody here share joint physical custody?

  i am asking this for a friend of mine (not a jw) who does not have computer access at home.

  i figured i would ask since there is so many people who post here.. she is going thru a divorce and the judge said they have to share joint legal and physical custody.

  they will each get the child 50% of the time.

  They have been fighting it out in court for almost a year. The judge has already determined they will share custody. Its just a matter of coming up with a schedule they works best for them. I agree that 2 weekends a month is not enough. My cousin had to fight like hell to get his kids 12 days/nights per month. It pissed off his ex big time because in his state if you have your kids more than 40% of the time you get a major reduction in child support. She did not like it when it was cut in half.

  I am asking this for a friend of mine (not a JW) who does not have computer access at home. I figured I would ask since there is so many people who post here.

  She is going thru a divorce and the judge said they have to share joint legal and physical custody. They will each get the child 50% of the time. The judge said they had 15 business days to submit a schedule to the court and if they didn't he would make the schedule himself.

  The child is 3 1/2. My friend wants to do a 4/3 schedule and then alternate. Her soon to be X wants 2 weeks on/off with a mid week 3 hour visit. She thinks seeing him only 3 hours a week while he is with his father is not enough time. The father says with the 4/3 schedule the child will have to move around too much. Both make valid points.

  Anybody have this kind of arrangement? What kind of schedule worked best for you? I told them to go to a mediator but there to broke (lawyer fees). She says any suggestions are welcome.

  Its true outoftheborg the JW's are the most perfect moral people on earth especially their leaders. You know she suduced that poor helpless elder. The slut!! There are even reports that she forced herself on him the first couple of times until he finally gave in and began a full fledged affair.

  In all seriousness I feel kind of sorry for her. She lost EVERYTHING and the former elder/lover still has his wife and kids and is in good standing now.

  soap writers could not make this $hit up. This did not happen at my former congregation but at another one. There was a sister who had an unbelieving mate. Supposedly it started out with an elder coming to her house to talk to the husband and try and start a study with him. He would have none of it and over the course of a year she would confide in the elder about her marital problems. Eventually they started having an affair and the husband found out when he read some e-mails of hers. It all came out. All hell broke lose. They were both disfellowshipped. The elder cut the sister lose and cried and begged his wife like a baby to forgive him. She took him back and last I heard he was reinstated and they moved to another state.

  The unbelieving mate filed for a divorce. So her dirty laundary would not be dragged thru the mud in a nasty custody battle she agreed to let him have sole custody as long as she had generous visitation and she had to waive her right to alimony and his retirement. I heard she was struggling a lot fiancially because she has to pay a lot of child support (3 kids). As of 6 months ago she has not been reinstated. I don't know if she is still going to KH. People are still talking about this almost 2 years after the fact.

  I don't support a war with Iraq without UN support. I have no doubt the US and the allies could carry on multiple wars, but at what price? Lets just hope cooler heads prevail.

  i am a bad bad girl because in all my years as a jw i always talked to df friends and ones that needed help, i try to be like jesus who always erred on the side of mercy, he even use to counsel the pharisees on their lack of it!!!!.

  he even himself in the account with the woman about to be stoned for a serious crime under the law he dealt with her mercifully and spared her life.. so i dont give a rats ass i still talk to df people no one is going to tell me not to be kind to whom ever i want!!!.

  I always talked to DF'd and DA'd ones and even socialized with them when I was attending the meetings. The elders could not really do anything to me because I was not baptized. All they could do was take away my publisher status and they knew I could have cared less if they did.

  JW loopholes for visiting DF'd relatives

  i've noticed in my own situation and others that even though we are df'd or da'd, that occasionally our holier than thou jehovah witness relatives will deem it "appropriate" to visit.

  this is after months or years of shunning in some cases.

  this christmas my non-jw cousin came to visit from houston and stayed with us a few days.

  My mom shuns my DF'd sister and treats her like she is dead, but expects to be able to see her kids whenever she asks w/o my sister being there. The arrogance of those JW's never ceases to amaze me and what irks me the most is that they claim that shunning is an act of love.

  yesterday i went to my moms to get some of my stuff out of her garage so i could put it in storage.
