Isn't it funny how, after any shooting death, gun owners paint themselves as the 'real victims'.

Where has this been said by anyone in this discussion? Just curious.

I think mandatory insurance and consequences if your gun is used in a crime. Make gun owners responsible or accountable.

If "culture" and "society" are the issue, as you claim, how does insurance solve the problem? I hate to point out the elephant in the room, but there ARE consequences for using a gun in a crime: it is the hundreds of laws the USA already has on the books.

Automobile insurance is mandatory in the USA, yet it doesn't prevent people from driving drunk. Just like ownership of firearms, if a driver abuses their privilege to drive, they go to jail.

Incidentally, the two articles little_socrates posted links to will not only address your claims but also show how baseless most of the claims made here really are. Something tells me they won't be read, however.

I've been investigating the net to find either someone in or out of the Watch Tower organization that has actually found the path of reason that the nation of Israel had lost.

Today it's called Islam. Islam has continued in the "path of reason" the Israelites began by enforcing genocide, misogyny, rape, slavery, religious intolerance, bigotry and devotion to a monstrous deity. If you want to set yourself back about 3,000 years in human progress, just become a Muslim.

I would describe the Biblical Israel as a lot of things, but reasonable would not be among them.

The statement Jehovah's Witnesses is a title. It was coined to separate the 144,000 true Christians from all other pursuits claiming to be Christian. This use of the title has never been change by the organization or governing body. Only through popular misconception does the great crowd use the title.

"Jehovah's Witnesses" is a name, not a statement.

The name was invented by Rutherfraud to distance himself from the abysmal failures of his predecessor, CT Russell, and the equally as abysmal failures on his own part after he hijacked WT by legal mischief. The "great crowd" do not use the name because of "popular misconception", they use it because they have no other choice. That is the way dictatorships masquerading as religion works.

Evidently you're not up on Witness present truth, and this is understandable since it is confusing

For all of your alleged understanding it is interesting that you are a throwback to ancient WT-isms. CT Russell used the term "present truth" because he didn't have enough elementary Bible knowledge to understand that term is a mistranslation, which he plagiarized from the just-as-clueless Adventists.

"evidently" is a euphemism for it's not evident at all but you're going to fling some bovine residue and see what sticks.

"present truth" means what you believe today will not be true tomorrow (in case you haven't figured it out, that makes it a lie today).

Remember only 8 out of millions survived the flood & only a remnant have ever made it.

Why I HATE the WTS

as a baby-boomer, i went through the pre-1975 bs without giving it any credence.. even as a youngster, my mind said: "if jesus said that no man knows the day or hour, then why the h is everyone saying that a is coming in oct.

" and i left as a teen.. for whatever insane reason, i was convinced to return a number of years later, and sadly, got dunked.. major faux pas.. in previous posts, i have mentioned my endearing love of great rock (god bless rock and roll), esp.

my teen faves bto, etc.. attending this concert ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yukhsmphvvo ) and watching fred turner's fingers drive me crazy, as one of my children has music in his soul and the fingers of a protege.. i hate that this cult destroys the orgasmic satisfaction that comes from the giving and receiving of pleasure from each others' developed or natural talents or gifts.. god bless rock and roll.. .

I hear you... from what I've read, it was the WTS's attempts to reign in his artistic tendencies that ultimately compelled him to leave.

I was close to a CO at that time who was directly involved with the MJ situation. WT had a real problem with the "Thriller" album in particular. MJ didn't leave... he was DF'd.

Yet another example of WT's intolerance for individuality and a person's right to be human by pursuing their innate talents.

WT idiocy tends to make even the most rational person a bit eccentric. It goes with the territory of living in a maniacal religious dictatorship.

I now feel rather silly for withholding judgment pending the outcome of the police investigation.
