Breastfeeding not allowed.
by The Scotsman inshocker at the group last week..... i was at the group last week (1st in about 4 weeks) and the conductor (the p.o.
) takes a sister aside and tells her that she was not allowed to breastfeed her baby before or after the book study because "someone" found it awkward.. hmm, i wonder if it was him that found it awkward.. anyway the twist in the story is that the group meets at her house.
the sisters husband was far from happy but is to reserved to do anything about it.

I"m so annoyed with the husband for allowing that remark to pass as well. I'd be kinda pissed at my husband if he let something like that stand. He wouldn't, maybe I'm spoiled.

Have you ever said "I could write a book!"
by compound complex indear wannabe writers,.
i'm sure that all of us have been either fascinated (or bored to distraction) by the loquacious reciter of personal tales who tops off his soliloquy with "i could write a book!
writing a book has left the realm of the remote possibility to become a truly practicable challenge.. do you have a tale to tell?

Every time I get off my meds, I'm sure I"m going to write the Great American Novel. But then I start taking them again and reality comes crashing down. LOL. Not that I don't have enough material for a book. Everytime someone hears stories of my life the first thing they say is "you should write a book."

Your opinion about Self Injury
by yumbby inas a life long self injurer i belong to a couple self help type groups.
one issue that keeps coming up over and over is everyone's dismay over peoples attitude toward them when they are discovered.
i try to help the young ones ignore peoples ignorant remarks but its difficult.

It releases extremely strong endorphines, breaks the cycle of intense anxiety, kinda like bursting a balloon. Becomes a powerful but ineffective crutch. The reaction from people is weird. Its not understanding in that they see someone in pain, they literally get MAD. Like the person killed a puppy or something. I don't understand the anger.

I try to help the young ones ignore peoples ignorant remarks but its difficult. Why do people think that people that cut or burn or whatever are selfish and attention seeking? Is that your opinion? Or do you see it as it is, a coping mechanism, a cry for help sometimes, a way just to get by. Some people have drugs, some have alcohol, some have a razor. Why the open hostility like we are murderers or something? I don't understand it. I really would like opposing opinion on this because I'm trying to understand others views and in turn maybe help some of these youngsters.

Bird Owners: Avian Roll Call
by RAYZORBLADE intime to let our feathered friends get some notice here.. for those of you avian lovers/bird owners - what kind of bird do you own?.
i should re-word it, because they seem to 'own' us.. i have 3 birds: 1 female cockatiel (a rescued footless darling) called, nimh; 2 female budgies (1 rescued) named, baby and blue.
2 years ago you may remember i had a budgie named: busy.

We have chickens.
But my mom being the imbalanced person that she was, had hundreds of birds in our house and out in an outdoor aviary. I won't even post the list. Every bird from finches to 3 types of parrots. Hundreds. So I love birds. But we had so many that I developed Farmers Lung and can never live in a house with a bird again. So she switched to fish. Geez. We had thousands.

Dinner Impossible, not so impossible
by Layla33 ini am not sure if there are any other food network followers, but i love to cook, so i love the network.
i actually really enjoyed "dinner impossible", it was fun and witty and i liked that they would give him impossible tasks to feed huge amounts of people and he would most often come through.. alas, he lied about his experience and having cooked for the royals and presidents.
it's kind of sad, but now they are yanking the show.

I read the article about him and he didn't as much LIE as kinda exagerate some of the things he did. I just feel sorry for people pretty quickly, especially when they are sorry. I don't think he should have lost the show.

I really feel for you. I seemed to feel exactly how you were describing when I first left because its not like you flip a switch and become a different person overnight. It helped me to start finding new interests. Classes, friends, new past times. I didn't force myself to do "worldy" things, I just took it slow and listened to my own heart.
Good luck, and be true to yourself !

What did you imagine life would be like in the New System?
by JH ini believed that we would all be young and healthy again, and there would be no more wars, but i didn't expect much change cause products have to be made and people have to work to make whatever they consume.
.
i imagined that we would be constantly watched incase we make the slightest error.. although living in paradise, it would be a constant combat, not against enemy forces but against our own desires and imperfection.. .

Paradise never seemed like a huge draw to me, I thought it would be an awful lot of hard work and uninteresting people, crappy music and no cars or television. I did like the idea of living forever because I was terrified of dying, but being married to one person forever and ever seemed abit much to take.

LOL. I swear my mother in law made things almost as bad for my poor husband.
