Happens to the best of us...just like all those people who bought tickets to Farenheit 911- duped into thinking it was a documentary...not realizing Moore was telling the "truth" but not the TRUTH! I point to the HAVES AND HAVE MORES Comment as one example among many.

Do you know how big 155mm is? That's 6" across. That's a big shell. If that was FILLED with Sarin, it could have killed a city block worth of people with little effort at all.
Stop confusing them with details darn it.
why would saddam have to have them tested? are you saying they bought random shells from other countries without knowing the contents? didnt iraq fill the shells to begin with? so....they just didnt mark them all, kind of like a surprise package for later?
Not to confuse ya with more details, but these weapons were NEVER reported as was required...did we bring up the rocket engines found in Jordan in the dump, the ones that came from Iraq right before the war...the 12 or so that were illegal for Saddam to have?

Cass,
Seems to me MUCH more would be accomplished by jailing the people responsible for moving this priest around...don't you think?

Is The Watchtower Organization Thought Of As An American Religion?
by Outaservice inwhile we all know that the jehovah's witnesses are found throughout the world, someone once told me that in other countries the governing body does not carry the weight that they do in the united states.. do you living in germany, france, uk, australia, etc.
feel that was the case?
to me, it seemed that such persons as the australians were such a 'gutsy' independent, wild west sort of culture that would question authority more so than say a u.s. witness.. is this primarily thought of as an american religion by others?.

Yes, the JW's, the Mormons, the Adventists, are all American Religions...pretty much everything that grew up in the 1800's.

Grammond was a priest who sexually abused at least 25 young boys over a 50 year period. He got Alzheimers in the late 1980s, and died a few years back. The Catholic church has already paid out millions in compensation to his victims, but there are more apparently out there that are still suing the Church. The guy was a slimeball of the lowest order, that's for sure.
There was a trial that determined this...or is he guilty because the accusations were made?
Civil suits are allowed even if criminal courts find an individual not guilty because the stakes aren't as high. But still should not be allowed if the guy can't defend himself.
Sweetie, the Vatican isn't in the business of holding mortgages etc, like I said, each individual diocese is it's own entity. Next, do we really want to get into the business of piecing out the diocese, much less the vatican? When all the money is carved up and given to the lawyers...and the miserable left overs given to the victims...who then will run the food banks and hospitals and charities that were at one time run by the Diocese? Will the lawyers be feeding, clothing, housing, and nursing the poor then?
