For me, I have begun to really tap into my spirituality in the last year. I have started going to a Unitarian Universalist Church. I also meditate every night. I am reading the Tao Te Ching. I talk walks, write poetry, many things.

Those people with the cardboard signs.

sunday afternoon i was driving to a day spa in seattle for a pedicure.
i was sitting at a red light and there was an older man holding a cardboard sign.

That is indeed awful when you see someone in those conditions. There are scam artist, but I know many are genunine. I work at an Information and Referral network and many of our calls in a day are for homeless people looking for shelter. They call us from a pay phone or one of the day stop over centers in the cities. There are limited shelters in the city and they only have so much space. Many times all we can do is tell them the shelters are full and give them the numbers to call themselves and try to get in. The person that came up with that resource packet had a great idea.
The fact that I found to be most horendous, we usually think of the average homeless person to be older gentleman, when in fact the average homeless person is a 9 year old child. Food for thought....

I need your prayers please
by WildHorses ini was at the hospital all day with my best friend, mattie.
she had a biopsy on her colon this morning.
they are looking for cancer, seeing they can't seem to find anything else causing her problem.

I find more and more I am meeting my goals and my life is headed where I want it to go. I am completely independent. I do not depend on anyone to help me out finacially. I am almost done with grad school and I will be entering a profession that I love and I am passionate about. I know where I want to live. I am so ready to get out there even more. The only part of my goals are to raise kids. And I know I will accomplish that as well.

when they went to swab his inner check, he said he could not do that because he was a jw.
i think the show got it wrong, i never remember being told as a jw that i could not give up dna samples, anyone know?

DUH...I know it is fictional dungbeatle, the question was just if anyone knew if JW had banned giving dna samples.
And I know the guy was just being a jerk saying he was a JW. that was not the point of the thread...jeez

Is death the end?

just wondering what the general consensus is among posters on this board to this question, is death the end of existance, or a portal to a new reality?

by JBean ini'm just curious...if you had the opportunity, who on this board would you like to meet if given the chance (or could without getting "in trouble"!)?
(could be serious, could be fun...) i for one, am just sooo curious to meet the cat himself... just to find out if he's much different in person than in his online persona!
...and maybe pet him a few times in the process...
