  from the congregation that brought you these watchtower comments, i thought you would enjoy some selected quotes from the public talk we had last sunday from the crazy talk outline: "the origin of humansdoes it matter what you believe?".

  it's amazing this talk outline is still allowed - some of the material is hilarious, and the arguments are so wild and misrepresented.

  So I just quickly looked up Michael Denton on wiki, another misleading quotation from the WTBTS.

  Michael Denton is an evolutionist, he proposes a different theory of evolution, he's not a creationist, it's all on line.

  To "cherry pick" out of context is dishonest & misleading.

  Listening to this is actually a crime against your brain! How insulting to the audience!

  Every single point is utter rubbish, you could take it apart point by point. But really, they are not interested in the truth are they?

  what an absolutely appalling talk, children are hearing this, what a way to mess them up.

  Well, so this is long, and there's something about her face that's weird, is it collagen? I don't know?

  Shunning is appalling cruel I know & I'm not defending it. BUT, if you were an adult in the JW, then you can't be surprised by it.

  I have been contacted by several JW since being DF, for various reasons.

  I would be curious to know how they justify it in their minds. Usually it was for self serving reasons, never motivated by any desire to do anything for me, or even care about my feelings. I did try to ask, and they all did the "shut down" immediately, which I found incredibly offensive, as they contacted me!

  this reminds me of that scripture about "having no natural affections" .... Truly, this applies to JW.

  Anyone else having a bad week? Thought I was going to die!

  so, this week has been hell!!!

  it's been bad enough that all of our jw friends & family having been shunning us, 'unfriending' us on facebook and sending nasty emails to gojira...

  so i have a dog, zoey that likes to tattle on the others, even humans.

  Update on "DA'd/DF'd"...

  since many of you were kind enough to give your responses, or at least share in my confusion, i wanted to take some time to share things that went down in the last few days in my family.. to recap, i was born-in but thankfully the hogwash never took.

  i was actively dodging meetings by age 13 by faking illness, usually missing 20 to 25 days of school per year.

  i left my family to attend college and was told by a family member that an announcement was made in my local congregation the following year that i was disassociated.

  Suraj, I didn't read your original comment. But what I read here is appalling. Im so sorry they shunned you like that, and for something like this?

  It seems you were already onto the WTBTS from a young age, good for you. Good luck to you in the future!

  Are Women better dancers than Men?

  i have always heard women say that men can't dance.

  No way Rattigan! Dancing is an amazing release......I danced all through the 90s raves/club stuff whatever :) I'm a girl.

  I knew I had to give my son dance, so from when he was born music blared & we moved & grooved to the prodigy, Metallica, red hot chilli peppers, rap, beyonce, etc etc.

  He's a teen now, and a confident groover!

  Some men seem really disconnected, like they don't even hear the music, just move their bodies in some way that they think = dancing. But, all little kids are great dancers, so what happens? Is it lack of practice? So the ability just dies? I don't know.

  I called the police.

  i stay at my grandmother's house and pay a little rent to her (r500) as it is all i can afford.

  i do however buy and take care of all my own food, washing etc.. this morning at 6 am, my bedroom door opend, slammed shut, heard the key turn a couple of times, open and slam shut again.

  i woke up with a fright as that has never happened....first thought is someone is in the house.

  Loubelle, from how you've described your grandfather he sounds like a narcissist. Narcissistic personality disorder... Can be initially very charming, seeking attention, always focused on themselves :- then when anything doesn't go their way, people don't bend to their will...watch out!

  I don't know what city you are in in SA, hope you can move away from him ASAP.

  ive read in other media of people getting ESL (English as second language) teaching qualifications fairly simply & going & teaching English in China. Apparently it was pretty well paid, anything like this an option for you?

  What do you mean?! I ALWAYS go to the beach after service and wear long pants and button up shirts while I play a game in the sand with my family! Sometimes I wear button up long sleeve shirts too!

  the wts likes to imply how jws should dress in and outside of the hall.

  you always want to set an example.. so i couldn't help but share this beauty in the january 15th, 2013, study edition of the watchtower.

  Sydney beaches... We cover up, but more stylish than that picture. Mums wear bikinis/one piece with floaty see through caftans, beads, sarongs...............you've still got to look pretty!

  Teens will die rather than wear rashies in my experience. Bikinis rule.

  boys wear boardies. But not baggy...kinda tight, once again rashies are an abomination, how will girls check out those muscles?

  was pondering today on the jws stance on the existance of the dinosaurs.

  would be interested to know any belieavers stance on this eg.

  your own belief and that of the wts current understanding.. insidentally i tried to search this on jw.org and no search bar, or at least i didn't find one ????.
