  I have to admit that I am not the best when it comes to math but even I know that the following does not add up…

  The WTS says Josiah reigned for 31 years:

  [Insight on the Scriptures, Volume 2 p. 118

  Toward the close of Josiah’s 31-year reign (659-629 B.C.E.),]

  [“All Scripture Is Inspired of God and Beneficial” p. 73

  The people now make Amon’s son Josiah king. During his 31-year reign, he briefly reverses Judah’s plunge toward destruction ‘by walking in all the way of David his forefather.’]

  They state that his reign was from 659 – 629. Well that is only 30 years NOT 31 years. Also they say the 13th year of his reign was 647 but being that they claim he began his reign in 659 then his 13th year would be 646 NOT 647. For it to be 647 the reign start would need to be 660.

  The WTS says Jehoiakim ruled 11 years but claim it was from 628-618, that is 10 years NOT 11.

  Jehoiakim’s bad rule of about 11 years (628-618 B.C.E.) was marked by injustices, oppression, and murder.

  If according to the WTS Jehoiakim began to reign in 628 then his 4th year would have been 624 NOT 625. That also means that Neb’s 1st year was 624…let’s see if that WTS agrees with that:

  Nebuchadnezzar ruled as king for 43 years (624-582 B.C.E.), this period including the “seven times” during which he ate vegetation like a bull.]

  Well it seems they do agree with that start as 624 but they are off on their math again because they say he ruled for 43 years but 624 – 582 is 42 years.

  And if Neb’s 1st year was 624 then his 18th year was 606, so he besieged Jerusalem in 606 NOT 607.

  Now let’s compare secular history arithmetic:

  Josiah – reign 640 – 609 = 31 years exactly

  we used to use this scripture to show that there was going to be a future resurrection.

  but recently i got to thinking about it.

  if the apostle paul was right in saying that the righteous on death would be changed in the twinkling of an eye from earthly life to heavenly glory why would there be a future resurrection needed for the righteous?

  for a long time, i thought pimi (physically in, mentally in) jws were unique in their inability to simply type and read the latest "google" news results about "jehovah's witnesses " or "watchtower".

  however, it appears it is not uncommon for a large portion of the population purposefully to avoid facts...on purpose!

  i’ve heard from a few trump voters that they are getting tired of the whole trump thing.

  one person yesterday said he lies.

  another person said she hears from her clients in her business that the constant drama and push back from all sides against trump is fatiguing.. i remind people that before this worldwide pandemic, we had the best numbers in jobs.

  JWs believe that the apostles and faithful dead went to heaven in 1918 i.e., the first resurrection began in 1918. That resurrection will be complete within the lifespan of a single overlapping generation.

  While that is true they also teach that the resurrection has not even begun yet and will begin with Jesus' Matt 24:30 arrival when the 1,000 years begin...

  [John 6:39 This is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose none out of all those whom he has given me, but that I should resurrect them on the last day.]

  [7-1-98 WT p.21 par.12 - That “last day” coincides with the Thousand Year Reign of Christ. (Revelation 20:6) Imagine the excitement during that “day” when this grand event begins!]

  [5-1-90 WT p.26 par.9 - Martha knew about that hope from her association with Jesus, for she had previously said to him regarding Lazarus: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” (John 11:24) She knew that the resurrection would be, not on his (Lazarus’) last day, but in the future, “on the last day”—Judgment Day, when the dead would be raised under God’s Kingdom rule.]

  [1 Thessalonians 4:15-17…the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice and with God’s trumpet, and those who are dead in union with Christ will rise first. Then we the living who are surviving will, ‘at the same time’ with them, be caught away in clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we shall always be with the Lord.]

  scrolling through the news this morning and i couldn’t help to think we are light years from any leaders crying out peace and security.

  jws are going to have to wait another decade or two and see how things develop before they get excited about armageddon coming in their lifetime.

  Like so much of other teachings from the WTS that they are wrong on, they are wrong on this as well.
  

  The prophesy of saying peace and security and the destruction that occurs thereafter does not occur kicking off the GT, it occurs kicking off Armageddon.

  The saying peace and security is tied to Rev 11:10 which occurs AFTER the 42 months (GT)...

  [Rev 11:10 And those dwelling on the earth rejoice over them and enjoy themselves, and they will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those dwelling on the earth.]
