There are about 34,000 different Christian groups in the world since AD 30. This is according to the World Christian Encyclopedia published in 2001. 1,200 different Christian denominations exist in the United States alone. Some groups classify Christianity into 8 meta-groups, namely Roman Catholicism (the largest), Eastern Orthodoxy, Oriental Orthodoxy and Assyrian Churches, Protestantism, Restorationism, Anglican Communicants, Pentecostal, and others.
Christianity has become so commoditized that one can't tell the difference between them. It is supposed to be one group and no differences between them.
And no need for a FDS to keep everyone united and not divided.

Terrible that the religious zealots are out there. He is no better than a Fundie Islamic.
That is not a prayer if it is recited. I doubt he even knows what it means.
Terrible to see a high school valedictorian at that, wearing a beard. They are still kids, children. They ought to look like children, not Islamists.
The whole business of their removing God from schools is a crock. Teachers and admins don't need to be bringing religion in schools except as a class teaching all religion. Children always have the right to do their religious things at school.

Since Great Crowd has no mediator
by sosoconfused ini am thinking that maybe i missed this discussion or something.
now for years in the org i never ever paid attention to the article that says jesus is the mediator for the 144000 alone.
yesterday talking to my 70+ year old dad he got violently angry with me and threw his cane at me because he said i was a liar.. .

"It's about having a personal relationship with Jesus and knowing that through his sacrifice he also plays a major role in our day to day communique with God. "
Why would anyone want a personal relationship with Jesus? He is the mediator bringing one to Jehovah God.
Why have the relationship with the mediator when the purpose is to have the relationship with Jehovah God?

Is this like David Manolvich, special pioneer family, being assigned to the Gadsden AL congregation in the late 1980s. There may have been alot of fallout because that is where Ray Franz was living at that time.

Since the Great crowd has no mediator we are still saved by washing our robes and making them white in the blood of the lamb.
Dude. Rev 7 says the great crowd came out of the great tribulation. Thus whether they needed a mediator for that or not, does not matter, they are through it. They are saved.
Seriously. Think it through first before you start another lame topic.

John the BAPTISER vs John the BAPTIST - which do you prefer?
by PaintedToeNail ini have always wondered why, as jw's, we would always say jt baptiser instead of jt baptist like everyone else.
it bugged me, so i refused to say it.
does anyone know why the wtbts uses the 'baptiser' moniker instead of the norm?.
-

John was not a baptist. Baptists are a protestant breed. Protestantism did not come until 1000 + years later.
He was a baptizer because that is what he did.
It is not a Watchtower thing other than to bring out that fact.

The JWs slipped up again with the same Alpha and Omega error from 1978
by booker-t inthe saying people will make the same mistake over and over again is so true.
in the "revelation grand climax at hand" the revised one 2006 the wt again makes the same error and attributes the words at rev 22:12 to jehovah on pgs 306 and to jesus on the last page 319. you would think they would have learned their lesson from the 1978 wt blunder.
they almost use the same wording discussing the suddeness of jesus coming and jesus encourages his followers of his sudden coming and they list 5 scriptures and say jesus spoke them and one of the verses is (rev 22:12).

Please don't be critical about the identity of Jesus and Jehovah.
JWs got it right.
But with Regard to Rev 22:12, it does not give an identity. However since vs 13 says " I am the Al′pha and the O?me′ga", it is Jehovah speaking
and " the first and the last, the beginning and the end." would also apply to him too without affecting Jesus.
Since there is no change between vs 12 and vs 13, vs 12 would also be Jehovah. But the verbage could also refer to Jesus.
However, since vs 16 says ‘I, Jesus, sent my angel", which would indicate a change in speaker, then vs 12-15 would be Jehovah.
Why does it matter what the Watchtowers, Awakes and books say? The Bible is not clear on the issue.

The only thing a JW needs to know to be set free from their religion
by yadda yadda 2 inbillions of human beings right now are muslims, hindus, buddhists, etc, etc.
they do not know a jot about 'jehovah' or the 'watchtower bible & tract society of new york" etc etc.
what is going to happen to these billions of persons at armageddon?.

"In your heart of hearts, do you really, honestly, truly believe a God of love is going to slaughter all of them because they never took a Watchtower and Awake magazine on a Saturday morning?"
Let's hope so. Who needs muslims or Budhists anyway. Without them the world with be more peaceful.
the military is trying to get rid of them now. Withiout those billions, there would be more for the rest of us.
I don't know why this is an issue. Those same billions will die within the next 70 years anyway.
