How To Maintain A Positive Viewpoint.??
Don't listen to the jw's who are always saying you cannot do enough, contribute enough, comment enough, blah blah blah blah!
did we all notice the way in which this weeks wt study (how to maintain a positive viewpoint) was all about keeping the flock positive even if they feel they are not doing enough in 'service'?.
the irony is that the very reason they feel stressed or worthless is because of the pressures the org puts on them to perform!!!.

some judged me for going/having gone to university.
some judged me for being 'too smart.
' some judged my non jw brother for being in the army.
I worked on a ranch, and broke horses for a living. Supposedly not showing respect for life as one could get seriously hurt or killed doing that. I set aside part of my wages every month in savings for later needs. I purchased life insurance. I purchased health insurance. I took home study college courses. Those are just a few things that put me on the "witness radar" as someone who was "weak".

Could it have been.....SATAN?
i just started reviewing this "lesson".
i found this in paragraph 5, and am pondering making/attempting to make a comment on it that may cause someone to think.. par.
5 states this, ""the faith" is the body of christian beliefs revealed in the bible.

Par. 5 states this, ""The faith" is the body of Christian beliefs revealed in the Bible. If our words and actions match those beliefs, (the body of beliefs in the Bible. my words)then we pass the test......Of course we must also compare our lives with the entire scope of Christian teaching."
Am I the only one who sees the problem with that? IF as the WT says the Bible contains the BODY OF CHRISTIAN BELIEFS, then WHERE are those other so-called Christian teachings found?
By that paragraphs statement from the GB they have effectively set themselves and their "christian" teachings as higher than the Bible, God's inspired word, itself!
so any ways to deal or cope with elders who just don't like you (you didn't do anything wrong or they're just making stuff up about you) assuming that you can't leave?
especially when it comes to for example becoming appointed as an elder.
or are you pretty much "dead in the water" if the elders are determined to like you despite reasonable efforts to win them over.
I have found a well placed F--- You! under my breath as I walk by certain arrogant wankers to work well. And when I get asked about it I just reply, "I did?" The uptick changes the entire meaning of those two words. And I didn't "lie".
Meanwhile do everything you can to show care, comapassion, and genuine fellow feeling for the ones who are elderly, handicapped, poor, or otherwise not worthy of the eldurrs time. You will have more people pulling for you than against you that way. And you will also feel much more christian in the long run.
first it was the holy spirit that appointed elders, then they began abusing children, so then they had to say its the body of elders that appoint elders.
then they abuse even more children and now they are claiming its the co's fault.
who actually does appoint the elders and ministerial servants?
CO's.
No such thing as holy spirit appointing anyone.
Let the green handshakes and brown nosing begin!
oh god!!
today's study is so full of classic manipulative comments..... i can't even begin to tear it apart.......... anyone want to start?.
What about paragraph 17?
Who today in the JW religion pursue a quest for prominence? Who want their names memorized? Who want more personal recognition? Who take to themselves ever more authroity over the R&F? Who will NEVER let themselves receive any needed discipline from any source?
Gawd, I think I just urped...again!
isn't that just annoying?
can people even comment in their own words anymore?
how bad is it where you're at?
I would only comment if somehow I could insert a commentary or some kind of thinking,
I know what you mean. I managed to get one comment in, which is getting pretty rare these days, on paragraph 11. Question was, "How can we avoid following Saul's bad course?"
My comment was, "In paragraph two the Governing Body lovingly helped us realize that self-sacrifice meant we would have no interests of our own, in favor of only being interested in others, and what they want form us. So unlike Saul who did well for quite awhile and then failed, we would not want to see the areas in our life in which we are doing well, but concentrate on aspects where we are failures, and then work only on those areas."
I kind of threw up in the back of my throat, but seeing sheeples heads bobbing up and down as they sat there with shit-eating grins on their faces was priceless. And they didn't even know that I was being sarcastic about the ever growing need of the typical JW to put themeselves down and destroy each others self-esteem!

How bad is it where you're at?
Pretty bad. For example, paragraph one today said, "When Jesus was on earth, he set a perfect example of self-sacrifice. He put aside his own desires and comforts in order to do God's will. (John 5: 30) By remaining faithful to death on the torture stake, he proved that his spirit of self-sacrifice had no limit. -Phil.2: 8
The question was, "How did Jesus set a perfect example of self-sacrifice?"
Simple answer would have been , "By remaining faithful to death for us."
But noooooo....First answer was, "We see that when Jesus was alive on the earth, he was able to set for us a perfect example of self-sacrifice. He did so by putting aside his own desires as a perfect human and the comforts he could have enjoyed, in order to do God's will."
Second answer was, "We also see the perfect examples of Jesus' self-sacrifice by the way he remained faithful, even to the point of death on a torture stake. And by doing that he proved that he had a spirit of self-sacrifice that was perfect and had no limit."
And here I thought that the paragraph had already been read once. Silly me!!
i will probably use this line in my bible highlights tonight!
it's from the 5/1/1950 wt article " a christian use of material wealth.
the money which is contributed by persons who accept the printed bible-study helps from jehovahs witnesses aids quite a bit in keeping the work going.
Obviously the GB has gotten "new light" because Jehovahâ„¢ is suddenly short of cash and realized "false religion" has a good thing going for themselves by tithing its members.
Not trying to be disagreeable, but the GB can STILL claim they don't tithe. With a tithe strictly speaking being one-tenth all they have to do is suggest demand 9.9% or less..or 10.1% or more. There...easy as can be, "We don't "tithe"."
And of course no collection plates are ever passed...just slips of paper to "voluntarily" promise to contribute the money they suggest demand from you.
