I didn't, I had a life goal set in front of me as a JW, and it was this. Graduate from high school, and spend the next 5 years enjoying my single life. My goal was to get married after I graduated from high school to get married after 5 years. Then spend two years with my future husband, and then start a family. Which was what I did, and I'm glad I did because after I had my second child, I couldn't have anymore, so if I had waited, I would have missed out on the opportunity to ever have any children.

I think we all can relate when looking back on our lives in that religion. There are quite a few times I too think back on my time in it and wonder why I just didn't wake up earlier.

Do you remember when you realised it was all bulls£&t
by moley ini remember when my faith left me.
i used to enjoy meetings and used to participate but then all of a sudden i was finding myself bored shitless at meetings.
i was taken off the theocratic ministry school for not attending when i was due to give a talk and not long after did something naughty and got disfellowshiped.

The very moment I realized it was bull, I got so angry that I literally was seeing red. I let my emotions get the better of me, and threw all my watchtower literature in the trash. Something I later regretted, what I wished I had done with it was to give it to someone who could use them as a weapon against the organization.

Serious Problems Between Elders
by ZindagiNaMilegiDobaara inever encountered or eyewitnessed problems escalating, arguements and rows between elders right at the kh anyone?.
one such experience was just before the meeting was about to start,we heard raised voices from the second room between two elders.
a minute later two other elders went into the room and we could all hear that they were trying to cool the situation down with whatever was going on in there.

I don't think I ever witnessed any of the elders having issues with each other, but I do remember my father in law was an elder. He even moved into this one small congregation because they needed some qualified men to fill the spot. Later on, he stepped down (or was removed, don't know the details), and moved to another congregation. I don't know the details, but I do remember how royally pissed off he was about the whole situation.

Treatment of families
by ZindagiNaMilegiDobaara inhas anyone experienced that family members of the general flock and those of the elders were treated differently, unfairly, or just put on a pedestal just coz they were elders kids?
where i grew up ,elders kids used to steal from their dads wallet right in fron t of us , and say to us that " if you say anything no one will believe you, i am the elders son".this went on from bad to worse , he grew up a constant liar, wore earrings to college and questionable association and clothes, involved in all things worldly.
.i know this coz he had a worldy friend who lived next door to me.this neighbors house was his go to for a double standard life style.

Growing as a JW I pretty much kept to myself, and the one friend I had as a kid was not a JW. I only had one friend my whole childhood, once I became a teen, but it was not until my senior year in high school did I make a few JW friends. The one friend I did have, we attended the same school for 2 years, after that we kept in contact through letters until we eventually lost contact with each other. As far as at the kingdom hall I did see first hand how kids who were the children of elders, and ministerial servants had their own clique. If your dad wasn't one or the other, well tough stuff you weren't included in anything. Not all congregations I attended were this extreme, but there were some.
My husband was the son of a Ministerial Servant growing up, and he told me about the way he was growing up, and well let's just say he did not act like the A typical JW. He dated girls who were not JWs, he was on the wrestling team and did other things that you see any normal non-JW teen boys doing. He said there were many times they would try to get onto him about it, but he would always shut them down by telling them that he was not baptized. He did what was expected of him at the kingdom hall (field service, meetings, talks). He often would say that he had two sides growing up.

If Angels in the Bible are of neuter gender ? Then why are they always depicted as males by description and name ? And never a female ?
by smiddy3 inin all of the art i`ve seen in christendom, angels always have the form of a male, and in the bible those that are named always have a male name such as michael ,gabriel , etc, .
nowhere in the art world that i have seen do angels have the female form, and in the bible they don`t have female names.. so if the angels are neither male or female why then are they depicted as males with male names ?and not female also ?.
the watchtower illustrators also follow this line .when they illustrate an angel it is always in the form of a male and never a female form.. the anointed who make up the 144000 comprise of male and females right ?

I asked this question a few years back, and the answer given to me was because all the stuff in the bible were done by men, written and complied.

How did the bible fables get started?
by Tameria2001 intoday while out running errands, i was flipping through the radio trying to find something to listen to.
i ended up on some christian type of station, and the guy was talking about the ark, and the flood during noah's time.

Today while out running errands, I was flipping through the radio trying to find something to listen to. I ended up on some Christian type of station, and the guy was talking about the ark, and the flood during Noah's time. Personally I no longer believe this fable, because the facts just don't line up. Back when I did believe this story, when I was a kid, my thoughts were what kind of animals were on the ark, you know things like lions, tigers, cows, and other animals we see to this day. But this guy popped up and was saying that even the dinosaurs like the T-Rex, Brachiosaurus and other such creatures were there as well. After he was saying that nonsense, I turned it off but I got to thinking. Let's say that guy was correct, just how huge would the ark have to be to hold that many creatures, plus enough food and water to feed all of them, not to count all the solid and liquid waste that those animals would produce. Not to even mention only 8 people took care of the feeding, watering, waste removal, and who knows what else is involved in animal care. How in the world did those bible fables even get started?
