I know at the moment you are probably not thinking about it, but it would be a very wise idea to discuss with your doctor, and put down on paper your wishes in case of a medical emergency regarding blood. Hopefully, everything goes smoothly regarding your birth, but just in case there are any complications that might happen. Even past that, make sure your wishes will be honored in case of an accident that would require emergency medical attention. If you leave this in the hands of your future husband, most likely he will prevent the doctors from giving you a blood transfusion.

What is some good information I can anonymously give my neighbor (foreign language)?

eight years ago the jws were making return visits with my spanish speaking neighbor (she speaks very little english).

they were calling on her during a period in her life that things were not so good.

i already know that jws love to take opportunities like this to try to suck someone into their cult.

Eight years ago the JWs were making return visits with my Spanish speaking neighbor (she speaks very little English). They were calling on her during a period in her life that things were not so good. I already know that JWs love to take opportunities like this to try to suck someone into their cult. Back then I had left some information in her door (she does not own a computer, nor does she use one), that warned her what she was getting involved with. It worked because shortly after that the JWs stopped coming to her home.

And now they are back at it again, but this time I want to warn her about the pedophile problem that is getting exposed to the world. Her young adult daughter is living back home with her, along with her 2-year-old granddaughter. The reason for her daughter's break up with her current ex is because he was caught by grandma (my neighbor) when he was getting ready to violate her granddaughter. I want to print up some information on how the Watchtower is getting exposed as a religion that is punishing the victims while protecting the predators. I want to leave this for her so she will know what goes on, in that cult. No one knows that I use to be a JW in my area and I want to keep it that way.

What are some good sites information that I can print off, and in Spanish, dealing with this topic?

How do they decide when to get rid of certain information in their publications?

i was recently watching a video on youtube and on the john cedars channel, he was talking about how the watchtower has discontinued quite a few of their books from back when i was still active.

so it got me to thinking about how do they decide that certain teaching doesn't fit them anymore.

so i was wondering does anyone have any ideas on how they come to that decision because if any of their members bring up something, that person can be disfellowshipped?.

To a JW, a worldly person is someone who is not a member of the Jehovah's Witness. It does not matter who they are or what they are doing in life.

What is his reason for wanting to go back? Most of the time it is pressure from JW relatives and the threat of losing those loved ones.

Please do plenty of research on this religion, your child's mental well being will depend on it.

Introduction

i have been in crisis regarding the international problem of the way child abuse has been handled in the wt organization.

i have been dealing with serious health issues that made it necessary for me to go on permanent disability since 2015. since then my health has gotten worse making it nearly impossible to attend meetings.

in this period i have received no spiritual or other help of any kind.

I was in a similar situation 18 years ago, but it was involving my son. He spent a week in the hospital, and the had to spend the next month recuperating at home. He was not allowed to be around anyone other than the immediate family, to give his immune system a chance to recover without the dangers of catching something. Not once did anyone call or stop by to see how we were doing, not even to bring us spiritual food. The only thing they said to me was that I had better make it to the upcoming district convention.

To make a long story short, I decided to finally get in and research everything I could find regarding the Watchtower and was quite shocked about what I had learned. Also, I found someone (she was not a JW) that I could ask quite a few of those nagging questions and got answers. By the time I was finished, it was like a ten-ton boulder had been lifted off of my shoulders.

Something I want to mention to you, you said you are dealing with depression. There are quite a few JWs who while they were involved with the organization they were also dealing with mental health issues. Around a year after getting away, they found that those issues had cleared up, and they were the care of their own doctors.

Do You See JWs Going From House to House Anymore?

i used to see them in my neighborhood or while driving.

there is a hispanic congregation nearby.

i used to see witnesses out all the time, some even doing the slow pioneer shuffle.

Are there any JW songs that you HATE?

you're probably thinking 'all of them', and it's true that the songbook is riddled with wrong stuff .

but are there any songs in particular that irk your moral sensibilities?.

for me it would be song #26, "you did it for me".

All of them. A few years back I was searching for national anthems of different countries. I don't remember which ones I found, but I had found where the Watchtower had used the exact same music as some of those national anthems as their kingdom melodies. They changed the words, but it was the exact same music. I'm surprised that they didn't get copyright infringement, they are always pulling it on other folks.

I disagree with the torture and killing of anyone regardless of who they are. What I would prefer to see, instead of that, would be the religious leaders be held accountable, with prison time, for their crimes against humanity, and for everyone to see them for what they truely are...charlatans.

So, why don't Witnesses disfellowship/shun those who eat fast food and are obese?

Simple, they would lose nearly every single member of the JWs, including the governing body.

Slavery - ancient

i have been listening to podcasts by dan carlin and his excellent series on persia and the spartans, called king of kings.. its a refreshing way to hear unbiased accounts of history, untainted by religious beliefs.. a part of the podcast dealt with the jews but it put into perspective their place in world history and events.

pretty much just another tribe- sometimes rebellious, allowed to exist under the rule of a major power, allowed to worship their own gods exactly like the other tribes around them.. another part that caught my interest was the account of slavery and it made me think about the way wt and other christian religions have tried to reconcile the idea that it was ok in those days for jews to own slaves because they had laws to protect the slaves.. the podcast made me realise a lot of apologists of slavery obviously forget how a person becomes a slave in the first place.

apologists like wt say it was ok because it was part of the economy and the way life was, which totally skips over the important part.. after a war, when most of the men were killed or wounded on the battlefield by the winning side, whoever was left, men, women and preferably young virgins, were taken back to the homeland of the victors and sold at the slave markets.

I feel the same way as Stealth, besides the slavery that was condoned in the bible. There are many accounts of it talking about the exact same thing as what the Nazis did. The Nazis made their victims sound like anything other than human. A while back I watched a few of the Nazis propaganda videos on the History Channel, and how they were comparing the Jews to rats. It was something that turned my stomach, but I watched it, to understand history a little better. While watching it, I noticed the similarity in the Old Testament of the Bible. It was when God was using a group of people to go in and slaughter the inhabitants who were already living in the land that was being stolen, under the guise of living in God's promised lands. They view those people they were killing and forcing into slavery as anything but human.

Nine times out of ten it is religion behind it when it comes to murder and slavery. The ironic part now is my JW relatives don't have anything to do with me because I decided I didn't want to be a JW, and my Christian relatives (those who are not JWs, but Baptist, Luthern, and other Christian faiths) don't have anything to do with me because I don't go to church either. I am VERY thankful that I got my sons away from those toxic teaching before it could do anything to harm their thinking. They are very familiar with the bible, and they too view it the same as I and don't want any part of it either, but they are able to hold their own when it comes to debating. I made sure of this so they don't get swept up into some cult (JW or not).
