  Is WT Influencing Dubs To Check On Other Dubs' Activities Via ZOOM And Otherwise?

  the reason for my question is because one pimo has noticed that there are some pimis--particularly spimis--who have remarked that they "are not going to contact nor associate with the friends who are delinquent on zoom and/or at in-person kh meetings, conventions, and assemblies".

  i've noticed this as well: a few ppimis and pimqs who were very close to me and my exdub family members are hearing from them less and less lately than before last year's rc and this year's rc.

  so, is the above a thing nowadays?

  this week's installment in the science quotes of "celebrated jw scholars" concerns one of their perennial claims.

  based on a literal reading of genesis 1:30, jehovah's witnesses believe and teach that all animals were orginally designed to be vegetarians and that the restoration prophecies of isaiah foretell a return to this state.

  The 2022 convention makes it worthwhile to revisit this excellent thread, what with exhorting members to 'just imagine' many aspects of the paradise to come.

  We surely need the writing dept to come up with some speculation, of the 'evidently' and 'likely' variety, of just how the carnivores will be reverted to their presumed previous forms, and whether, in the new system, a tiger might look like a striped cow or something. It only sounds ridiculous to those who are not rightly disposed!

  The beginning of this article unnacountably made me think of the final scene in Stanley Kubrick's 'The Shining'.

  I think it's very true that the rank and file will just let the details (difficult to rationalise as they are) wash over them, and just be reminded that (1) they're all slaves (2) it's the real life last days.

  Nobody will be thinking 'Oh come on, King of the North! Make your mind up which superpower you want to be, you're holding up the Lord's day, and tell Gog he better settle on an identity too!'

  “This generation will by no means pass away.”

  for argument sake let’s assume that this verse should apply to 1914. what are your thoughts on generation?.

  There is an argument that the Greek translated as 'this generation' should not, in context, be understood in its modern sense of 'contemporaries alive now' but rather as 'this race, this people' or something similar; what the KJV translators would have had in mind.

  I tend to agree with this. So I propose the following as a way of keeping the verse relevant to 1914:

  'Our revised understanding is that 'this generation' means the new 'Spiritual Israel' which began to arise (or 'be generated') after CT Russell began to restore True Worship around the turn of the 20th Century. This group of Anointed Christians are the ones who 'shall endure till the end' (Mt 24:13)'

  SCOTUS ruling on the Stratton canvasing case: Cappytan & Mark O'Donnell livestream

  i just saw got a message from cappytan that he is going live on the 19th june est (uk 8 pm) with mark o'donnell & jake alt worldly to discuss the recent scotus ruling in favour of watchtower re: the stratton v. watchtower case.

  so the stratton mayor required anyone canvasing door to door to fill out a form prior to visiting residents homes.

  watchtower claimed the form, which required you to reveal your name, was unconstitutional and interfered with their first amendment, free speech rights.. my step father in the uk was responsible for our restriction on 'cold calling" law, enacted to protect the vulnerable from illegitimate businessmen, criminals and others intent on taking advantage of the vulnerable at home or otherwise doing them harm.

  Just to point out that the Supreme Court (SCOTUS) ruling is not recent; it's the 20th anniversary of the ruling that watchtower wants to celebrate, because (as is discussed in Cappytan's video) more recent legal cases are nothing they'd like to boast about.

  Just make sure nobody wishes the Stratton ruling a happy birthday, eh.

  Although that might be OK given that the JWs were apparently presenting alongside a Mormon ie engaging in 'interfaith'.

  the 16-18 of june 2022 in quebec city, laval university, canada, there will be a conference organized by cult apologists cesnur (european) and info-cult/info-sectes (canadian).

  some famous cult apologists (massimo introvigne) will be there and some jw mid range leader from ontario david docksteader too.

  Nothing wrong with 'Apologia' if it's honest and in good faith.

  Of course 'Dracula boy' tends to have a perspective based on who is funding him.

  And the JW representatives at the conference will probably speak out of both sides of their mouths.

  Info-cult is not a pro-cult movement though. I expect they will keep the actual cultists in line. The Q&A sessions might be interesting, if they have any.

  But hang on, I thought JWs didn't engage in 'interfaith' activities which surely this is?
