The books "Crisis of conscience" and "In search of Christian Freedom" did a lot in bidding the JW religious organization bye.
A challenge to refute the book was an exercise in futility.
After completely digesting the materials personally with a lot of note taking. I ensure I was able to see the practical benefits of the book for another two to three years within the set up of Jehovah's religious organization before exiting.
@ disillusioned you will find CoC and ISCoF really interesting to read. The moniker used by a person on a public forum led me to CoC, I discovered he wrote the second one ISCoF while reading CoC book. Immediately I completed CoC, I read ISCoF.
I tend to like the title of all the chapters of these books. It is after reading you will appreciate why these chapters are coined that way.

Easy peasy, you are expected to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses when you study with them.

This looks more like relationship based on love.

From the pages of Crisis of conscience page 122 - 123 issues having to do with supreme court cases worn by the organisation was discussed....
Their decisions were applauded in the Society’s publications.
Sadly, however, the high standards of judgment and the approach to emotionally charged issues shown by these judges often appeared to be on a higher level than that manifested in many Governing Body sessions.
The expression of one Supreme Court justice in a particular Witness case comes to mind. He stated: The case is made difficult not because the principles of its decision are obscure but because the flag involved is our own. Nevertheless, we apply the limitations of the Constitution with no fear that freedom to be intelligently and spiritually diverse or even contrary will disintegrate the social organization. . . . freedom to differ is not limited to things that do not matter much. That would be a mere shadow of freedom. The test of its substance is the right to differ as to things that touch the heart of the existing order.
The confidence that the justice expressed in the ‘existing social order’ and the freedoms it espoused seemed considerably greater than the confidence expressed by some Governing Body members in their fellow Witnesses and the effect their freedom of conscience, if exercised, could have on the existing “Theocratic order.”
If the Supreme Court justices had reasoned as some of the Governing Body members reasoned, the Witnesses would likely have lost case after case.
My take............
The real winners are the judges who worked hard towards the interpretation of the laws as it were then and ensure that freedom of speech and conscience is not deprived.

it has to be as plain as day that so many jws are poor and struggling today because they never got a career or decent job years ago.. sadly, there are still witnesses who believe money will fall from heaven if they are in the full-time ministry.
they expect some miracle to occur..but, we all know the truth: people in the congregation will be hit up for yet more money for another bunch of irresponsible people pursuing poverty.

When STOP does not actually mean STOP. What makes one anxious or the degree of anxiousness vary from person to person.
I was studying the way hawks operate during the dry seasons here and you cannot help but see how they toil and try hard every day to feed daily on chickens as they repeatedly try to get this chickens that are protected by the hen.
Compare this to

Observe intently the birds of heaven;+ they do not sow seed or reap or gather into storehouses, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth more than they are?
Reality tells us all of these creatures in one way or the other toil and spin

i'm not talking about csa type stuff, just regular insignficant stuff that people occupied their time over..

Have equally heard a person who disassociated from the religious organization and the rumours that came out after the person's disassociation was he either committed fornication or stole from the congregation.
I am not aware of what those leading men in that congregation did to quell that. I know the evidence before them though regarding that person was never what those gossip carried.
That experience proved true that there is never a clean way to leave the religious organization of WTBTS.

Suppose you need to have surgery for a life-threatening illness. You would want to have the utmost confidence in the surgeon, since your life will be in his hands. Would it not be prudent to review his record of experience?
Similarly, it is wise to examine religion carefully. If you belong to a religious organization, you are, in effect, putting your spiritual life in its hands. This includes your prospects for salvation....... July 1 2013
Why???????
1. WTBTS hands are not clean or safe
2. Prospects for SALVATION bleak.
3. Complete lack of trust and confidence in the 8 only men at the WTBTS HQs dishing out imperfect spiritual food that on the long term and run accumulates to POISONS that kills it members or leads them from WTBTS to CHURCHES
4. Review of past records and experience , revisionist records and experience, outlawed records and experience, past truth, present truth, future truth is making member become what the WTBTS calls APOSTATES and the following consequence is to move from WTBTS to CHURCHES.
5. Many became a member to find SOLUTION to the LIFE THREATENING problems they face only to find out in the long term and run how WORSENING their cases had become.
In summary WHY???? WTBTS pushed them to the CHURCHES😁😁😁😁😁
I hope with these few points of mine I am able to convince you and not to confuse you as to WHY?
You disliked it immediately you found that it does not fit well with your mindset.
Since you just admit that you rejected the GB as Jehovah’s representatives, do you then accept that your spiritual lives and salvation is in jeopardy?

My initial post to you at doubting Thomas certainly generated some huge current that made most of the fuse available and at your disposal almost blow up.
