Let’s go with an illustration, I always excelled at those on my number 4 talks.
One man was raised in a poor household. When he graduated school, he was determined to change his lot in life. He eventually earned a salary of $250,000 per year and enjoyed a nice house, cars, vacations and still had money to spare for retirement savings.
Another man was poor, but had a hope of winning the lottery one day. He went on eeking his way through life struggling paycheck to paycheck. This was no way to live and he hated it, but he had the surest hope he would win the lottery one day and all his money stresses would be washed away. The man eventually died with $5 in his jeans pocket.
Where did hope get that man? Absolutely nowhere. The hope took all his drive and determination away. It robbed him of getting what he could have had his entire life.
