dear all, need some advice .

in my country one can get dfd for pretty much anything the bullies want to df you for.

but is there any specific guidelines that state one can or cannot be dfd for marrying a non witness.

After she's been warned its pretty much up to the elders discretion.

My unwanted advice is as follows:

1. The sister should state to the elders that she will not marry the young man.

2. Continue to date the man of her choice privately while feigning a broken heart.

3. Start to fade. When confronted by the elders she should claim that she is depressed because of the breakup and the pressures of work/study/whatever.

4. When her fade is complete, switch congregations.

5. Finally marry her beau and live happily ever after, or discover after a couple of years that he was not the droid she was looking for.

Beauty pageants are great. I wish they would just shut up and get to the swimsuit part. After all they're just eye candy with opposable thumbs.

Was that sexist? Misogynistic? That was sort of what I was aiming for.

with the christmas almost upon us i would like to share a personal experience with you about drinking and driving.. as you may know the local police are having a serious go at drink drivers this year... well, a couple of days ago i was out for an evening with friends and had a small number of drinks before dinner, followed by some rather nice red wine.

feeling jolly i still had the sense to know that i may be very slightly over the limit.. that's when i did something that i've never done before - i took a taxi home.. sure enough on the way home there was a police road check, but since it was a taxi they waved it past.

i arrived home safely without incident.. this was a real surprise as i had never driven a taxi before, i don't know where i got it and now that it's in my garage i don't know what to do with it.. any ideas?.

Basic Principles for Forum Moderation

a perennial issue for any online forum is moderation and applying rules.

we have a set of community guidelines and posting guidelines that are intended to make clear what is and isn't acceptable but this tends to focus on the obvious standards of behavior for, well, obvious reasons.

it's easy to talk about people being aggressive or insulting etc... as those are common and clearly unwanted behaviors and the typical issue for online communities - the most likely things to come up.. does this mean that everything *not* on the list is allowed?

Me too. I'd be a wonderful mod. I would only delete those posts that I disagree with.

I'd even do it free of charge. No strings attached. Just like a free home bible study.
