  This boils my blood.

  When people destroy priceless history because of their religious beliefs, I do not know whether I should laugh or cry. In the "new system" the Pyramids, St. Peters and St. Paul's would be blown to smithereens as pagan symbols. Religious artwork would be destroyed en masse because it represents Babylon the Great.

  I'm sure fundamentalist Muslims in Syria are throwing a party. Yes Syria, blow up your heritage and stay in the fuckin stupid ages. That's why the West does not return all the stolen treasures to their lands of origin. Until you can be trusted with your own heritage, they'll stay in the 'infidels' keep.   JW UN Rumor

  yes, i have returned.. a short recap of major events since my inactivity began: i finally revealed to my parents that i do not believe the same thing they believe in (after i was caught smooching my girlfriend by a family of good-for-nothing pieces of human feces), and of course they view themselves as failed parents who were unable to brainwash their children.

  that is, of course, the reason why they are much more controlling over what i do in my life now (my mom even tried having a "bible study" with me).

  i told them everything and i was unable to dent their jw imposed mind force field, while also exposing a clear jw misunderstanding of probability, evolution, history, logic/reason, and the big bang theory.. in a conversation i had with my mother a few weeks back (i also heard this rumor before, but my mother told me it again), she mentioned how the un held a summit of all religions and when the jws presented themselves and mentioned their preaching work warning of the coming un ban on religion (referring to an international organization who can't even prevent genocide, much less impose human rights), a un official came up to the jw who presented the cult and told him to "speed up the preaching work", because they plan on doing the ban soon.. it saddens me to think of how ignorant jws are in relation to the principles upon which the un was founded and being unaware that the un at least has some sense as to not ban religion, but this rumor, as ridiculous as it is, needs to be put at rest.

  i've been lurking on the board for almost a year now and i think i'm ready to come out of hiding (although, i'm so nervous as i type this).

  i'm not ready to share everything about my story, but the basics are that i'm a born-in, elder's kid, baptized as a teenager because i was tired of hearing people ask me "all your friends are baptized, when are you going to get baptized?

  Regarding Paranormal experiences. Many factors may contribute to a person experiencing the paranormal:

  These include: Suggestibility, priming (cultural and religious background and environment). Then also

  Pareidolia - a psychological phenomenon involving a stimulus (an image or a sound) wherein the mind perceives a familiar pattern where none actually exists.

  Apophenia - a human tendency of perceiving patterns or connections in random or meaningless information.

  Hypnagogia - the experience of the transitional state from wakefulness to sleep. Mental phenomena that occur during this "threshold consciousness" phase include lucid dreaming, hallucinations, and sleep paralysis. Some have experienced a thing called the "Phantom face".

  Wasn't Armageddon's eminence also imminent back then?

  I am a card carrying member of the ACLU.

  The same ACLU that has defended the usage of the confederate flag, the KKK and the tea party's freedom of speech. The same ACLU that has also defended LGBT rights, civil rights, communists and the Jehovah's Witnesses.

  I agree that the Libertarian ideal is almost as evil as Helen Keller but nothing comes close to her wickedness. If it wasn't for Keller being blind and deaf she'd probably have completed her mission as the anti-Christ.
