The Paranormal
by Peony ini'm interested to know if anyone has been to see a medium/clairvoyant since leaving jw's.
i must admit now i can make my own choices i seem to have a fascination with it although haven't acted on it as a) am i just jumping into believing another load of rubbish?
and b) what if it really is the demons pretending to be loved ones!!

Well I dabbled with the occult. Bell, book, chalice, candle and all the rest.
I had a hooded cloak made by a lady who ran an esoteric shop. Turns out she was a witch (or so she claimed). It was a very nice black cloak I have to say. After she closed up her shop she went back to teaching and became the principal of a middle school no less.
I sold the cloak at a jumble sale. Hopefully its found its way to the house of unsuspecting JW's who have been tormented ever since. Mwuaaaaa hahahahaha.
My experience is that there's nothing there except for what you bring to it in terms of your imagination.
If you're superstitious and you believe its going to negatively affect you, then stay away.
Otherwise have fun with it but don't take a mediums charlatanery seriously :)
Booo!

Homo sapiens is also missing (let alone the missing links in between)
by iconoclastic inthe word sapiens (from latin, meaning wise) when applied to humans as final evolute, it is understood that humans manifest wisdom in their day-to-day living.
one of the features of being wise (which means having/showing experience, knowledge, and good judgment) is about replacing wastages with something better.
is this being done with regard to many of the greater aspects of our lives?.

How do magnets work?
I believe it was insane clown pose who first posed this philosophical conundrum. They argue that science should not be used to answer such a question. The fact is then that no one knows...
Fucking magnets, how do they work?
And I don't wanna talk to a scientist
Y'all motherfuckers lying, and getting me pissed

Hi iconoclastic,
1. Everyone on earth use one word for America. Let us do the same with other words such as earth, water, air …. Why do we need thousands of words to refer the concepts such as them?
There have been attempts made at this.
One example is Basic English invented by Charles Ogden.
The problem is who decides which words get chosen? It comes down to the selectors personal preference which invariably will cause dissatisfaction.
One thing can be described with many words and for good reason. Take a simple example word: Excrement.
In a neutral situation one may use the word - feces, when you're angry - shit. When you hang out with cavemen - kaka. When you're on the farm - dung. When you're with the ladies at the book club - ejecta.
Each situation presents a context and an appropriate word choice. Sometimes even emotion is attached to the use of a specific word. The magnificent textures in language is what makes the argument for a reduced word catalog less than desirable.

Perhaps the Syrians were better off when they actually worshiped Ba' al
Surah 37:123 - 130
And Elias was most surely of the messengers. He asked his people: 'Do you not fear God? Will ye call upon Baal and forsake the best of creators? God is your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' But they rejected him, and they will certainly be called up for punishment, except the sincere and devoted servants of God among them, and we left this blessing for him among generations to come in later times, peace be upon Elias.

This boils my blood.
When people destroy priceless history because of their religious beliefs, I do not know whether I should laugh or cry. In the "new system" the Pyramids, St. Peters and St. Paul's would be blown to smithereens as pagan symbols. Religious artwork would be destroyed en masse because it represents Babylon the Great.
I'm sure fundamentalist Muslims in Syria are throwing a party. Yes Syria, blow up your heritage and stay in the fuckin stupid ages. That's why the West does not return all the stolen treasures to their lands of origin. Until you can be trusted with your own heritage, they'll stay in the 'infidels' keep. Do you hear that Dr. Zahi Hawass?
