  I have a similar story with my sister. Though we never out right told each other to stay out of each other's lives, it was obvious my sister apposed my being a JW. She wrote me a nasty letter once telling me she couldn't believe the religion I had chosen. She said "Out of all the religions out there I can't believe you went and choose that one!" LOL! My poor sis. (I can laugh about it now but then it hurt a lot) I distanced myself from my family because they just didn't understand. What a fool I was!

  First thing I did when I awoke from my deep dubdum sleep was tell my sister I was out and wanted to have a better relationship with her. She and I are now building a wonderful relationship as well as with the whole family. It's so wonderful.

  All I can say is Thank God not one person in my family listened to my JW nonsense! I'm so looking forward to my first X-mas in six years with my family.

  in jdub days coming home from the coventions the car discussion would always ask "what are you taking home with you from the convention"- meaning what part did i like or how was i encouraged.

  to be honest, answering that question has always been a struggle.

  i asked myself this question as i sat in traffic for 2hrs on my way home from the march.

  former jw..new on the board and glad to see it so active.

  the latest round of "new light" in the recent km has reversed the rules and once again my family has been told to shun me.

  i da'd in my early 20's after being very active since childhood and have been out of the "borg" now for nearly 18 years.. i look forward to reading and posting as i get more familiar with the names here.. rgw.
