That is just reflecting what is common in the various countries. In the Northern parts of Europe, the 3rd person was used till the 60s, but after that the 2nd person is used. In Spain, Germany and other language editions, the 3rd person is used. Just a reflection os what is commonly used.

Change of tone in French WT
by aposta-Z inif some of you read the french version of the watch tawor (la tour de garde), i noticed recently, they have stopped using the formal "vous", for the more common "tu".
.
for non french speakers, both words mean "you".. but the word "vous" (second person plurial) is used out of respect when adressing strangers, and it is the pronoun usually used when adressing the public in a magazine, news paper, public adresses, etc.. i new the mighty wtb&ts was dumbing it down, but now they talk to them like they were children.

"Its funny how God cant write the Bible so its clear. I meant the ancients didnt need hints like capitalisation to make theology clear. Jehovah next time you write a Bible, write it properly so theres no confusion in what you want to say."
It MAY come as a surprise to you, but the Bible was not written in English originally. I know, I know, it is a terrifying surprise to you, but nevertheless it is the truth.
So in Hebrew or Greek and other languages this is no problem - but it is in those languages which do not differ between 2nd and 3rd person plural.

So, No Evidence For Solomon... How About The Other OT Superstars?
by Room 215 inso, as we've seen, there is no independent, epigraphical extra-biblical evidence from archeology for solomon; then what about joshua, samuel, joseph, samson, etc., etc.
?.

"Theres a very interesting book by a scholar who shows the egyptian and bible parallels. (........) Read the book you will see the truth for yourself."
The only problem (apart from the fact that neither author nor title are mentioned) is that there other very interesting books by other scholars that whow different things, and after reading those books one will be able to see a different truth for oneself ................
One book says A, another says B, and so we are driven by the wind and by the wave from here to there to Neverland, and who knows what is True? For every idea proved there is the exact opposite idea likewise proved, as Charles Fort so wisely put it a century ago.

2012 report analysis - growth of JWs according to local internet availability
by cedars inhi everyone.
i did a similar chart to the one below last year, but this year i thought i'd make it slightly more meaningful by giving the statistics across three years rather than just one.. hopefully it's fairly self explanatory.. i'm making the data i've used available in a separate pdf download for those who are interested.. .

Could you also give the same figure, in correlation with pork flesh consumption and whether the houses mainly are consttucted by wood or stone?
Correlation is a tricky thing. Coca cola and vodka = you get drunk. Coca cola and rum = you get drunk. The correlation factor? Coca cola.
I am afraid you will have to look a variety of other factors that can distrub you otherwise neat figure, like age distribution of the population, rural or urban areas, democratic versus not so democratic countries etc. etc.

Jehovah's Witnesses dismayed by new magazine format from Watchtower Society.
by Balaamsass inwow.
i was surprised this week by calls from active jws complaining about the new magazine format, and more begging for money from the platform.. frankly i was surprized by this reaction since this is old news to jwn members.
i guess actually shuffling to the bookroom and grabbing the new "awake tracts" minus the inside cover forward ...awakened many sleepy, catatonic, bored jws who never read the things or go on the internet anyway.. any feedback from other areas?.

" i remember the first district assembly where the lunch break was nearly 2 hours, in total there was only like 3.5 hours of talks for the whole day"
Don't understand that - as the latest DA here had a lunch break of 1:20 and a total of 5:30 hours of talk ............

Who is supposed to do the "Separating Work" for the new magazines?
by nochoice inso, there is a bit of a fight going on in our hall between our pioneer sisters and our magazine servant.
since the new magazines are boxed with two issues together, there is a bit of work to be done separating them.
our magazine servant stacked them on the counter as usual, right out of the box.
-
TheOldHippie
In fact a letter HAS been read, telling that they are stacked two and two and have to be separated, and that orders for issues in foreign languages have to be made in 2's; a congregation cannot order 3 of a certain language because of the printing method, but 2 or 4.
The couple of youngsters handling the counter do it here, and the smaller children are happy to help, making a competition out of it.

- Some followers burn children's books in metal bidons (trash cans? you get the idea, a metal receptacle)
- They must marry without ever having kissed during courtship
Oh yeah? Really?
I have also burned various things in trash cans - guess I'll pop up at the front page of some magazine.
Must marry without ever having kissed - guess I'll have to make sure the whole congregation is df'ed, then ............
