just to share a little about me:.
i was recently appointed an elder, about 6 months ago now, and that is exactly two years after my awakenning, but funny that the appointment came also about 2 years after i had completely lost all faith in god and had been leading a full time anti-jw life .
makes you wonder the role of the holy spirit in the entire nomination or appointment process.. .

But at the same time, you state you were appointed 6 months ago.
Have there been THAT many JCs appointed, THAT many cases of violating the standards in half a year's time?
Makes me VERY doubtful as to whether this is a true case or not.

i used to consider sharks to be evidence for creation - and against evolution because it was stated that they are largely unchanged after millions of years ( hence, 'what evolution?')..

I don't need to have any points - YOU have them, and you so readily keep on giving them to us. Come on, give us more! I am sure you can do better than stating that doubting evolution is equal to claiming the Earth is flat?

maybe a silly question, but i'm curious about this part of the story of christ's crucifixion, when the 1 thief challenges jesus to save himself and "us too" from their deaths, but the 2nd thief rebukes him and pleads with jesus... .

Hardly. It was in NT Greek. If one is to state what the text "probably was like", one ought to provide a word-for-word translation from the Greek. And there is no need to operate with a "probable" text, as it is readily available for example in Nestle-Aland.
And in your "probable" text - what is your basis for writing the "today" with a capital T?

after knowing ttatt for many years now...i had made up my mind long ago that after 2014, i would no-longer subject myself to the boredom, pain, and frustration of following this cult...the wt...the borg.. so...i made up my mind that since the wtbts/gb makes such a big deal as to the "significance" of the year 1914 and this year 2014, there can be no greater time for me to leave it all behind.
i daydreamed of how awesome and telling it would be if everyone that could ( because i do know that some have personal circumstances of their own, as i did too) would just .... walkout...never to attend/step foot in a kingdom hall from that moment on.. independence day of sorts?
there is too much evidence, too many videos, blogs, books, news reports and lawsuits for me to keep lying to myself.

Yes. MSs prayed over both symbols here. And those passing the symbols were neither elders nor MSs.
No tiger petting, but in essence yes - since much emphasis was put on reading from various chapters of Isaiah, prophecies about life in the new order. It was somewhat similar to last year's talk, but simpler and directed towards the invited ones and the young ones, and not much on the covenants etc. One of the best talk outlines I have heard. Almost three times the number of publishers attended, and three partook of the emblems.
