i used to consider sharks to be evidence for creation - and against evolution because it was stated that they are largely unchanged after millions of years ( hence, 'what evolution?')..
that's not the case, however.
"Anyway, as you probably know now, animals that don't seem to have changed much are not proof against evolution; it just means that they have not had much competition or change in their environment over the millennia."
Yeah. So if there is change - that is a grand prrof of evolution. And if there is no change - that is a grand proof of evolution.
Nice theory. Covers all possible past, present and future findings. Impossible to disprove. eh..... and therefore no science ........
there was a guy in his early 20's that gave the prayer for the bread or wine at my memorial (i just do not remember which one, wine or bread?
) he does not look like elder material at all.
if ms can't give the prayer at the memorial, then he must be an elder by now.
Yes. MSs prayed over both symbols here. And those passing the symbols were neither elders nor MSs.
No tiger petting, but in essence yes - since much emphasis was put on reading from various chapters of Isaiah, prophecies about life in the new order. It was somewhat similar to last year's talk, but simpler and directed towards the invited ones and the young ones, and not much on the covenants etc. One of the best talk outlines I have heard. Almost three times the number of publishers attended, and three partook of the emblems.
new donation arrangement (tithe) asked my elder about it he hung up on me.

Cedar writes on his blog that
"After listening to the above statement, publishers would be forgiven for assuming that more than 13,000 new Kingdom Halls are needed each year to keep pace with publisher growth.
However, when you compare the number of congregations in 2013 (113,823) with the number of congregations the year before (111,719), you note that there has been an increase of only 2,104 congregations worldwide – some of which will be sharing existing kingdom hall infrastructure. The 13,000 figure is therefore either a gross exaggeration, or kingdom halls are being refurbished and rebuilt at an astonishing rate – faster than is actually required."
Nowhere does it say that 13,000 are needed annually - it states that 13,000 are planned and/or under construction right now. Further, Cedar seems to think that each congregation has its own KH. It doesn't, and particularly so in 3rd world countries. So whatever one might think of Cedar's blog - the lines quoted above are totally misplaced.
just wonder with all the jw.org hype.
what sort of real aid and help was given to the witnesses that were effected by that hurricane in the philippines?was it a case of if you had the insurance check we will help you.
or was it a case of keep warm and well feed, and here is a magazine for you to read.
"The homeowner gets nothing they could not have gotten elsewhere"
Except they get it within days and not years ........ In Haiti and elsewhere, hundreds of thousands still live in camps, years after desaster struck.
as i was saying before the watchtower literature trolley has arrived in my little town.... my wife and i were in town this afternoon and i saw one of my former elder colleagues standing beside the trolley talking to a young man and reading to him from one of their books.
ray was one my least favourite people - he was everything that is bad about jw elders.
i went up to them and interrupted and told the man that this is a cult recruitment campaign.
"I went up to them and interrupted and told the man that this is a cult recruitment campaign. Ray was like a rabbit in the headlights as I told the man briefly how the Watchtower breaks up families. It was a brief interaction but it made me happy.
...............
I tried to appeal constantly to his authentic personality and common sense. I hope I showed him that I am not an angry, raving madman but a calm, intelligent, thoughtful man who no can longer believe impossible things."
:::::::::::::::
Seems like you had it both ways. First you interrupt people having a quiet talk, later you try to show you are calm and intelligent and thoughtful (humble way to describe oneself, by the way .....).
mi first prophecy:.
friday afternoon: 4:20 teach your children to love gods kingdom!
new book/brochure for children based on the articles "teach your children" (appeared in watchtower public edition).
Organization books have never been released at conventions.
just read a post on jwsurvey about the new donation arrangement.
congregations are to pledge a monthly amount to be sent to the society to fund the building of assembly halls and kingdom halls.
congregations who already have a loan from the society will no longer have to pay back the loan but the amount pledged should not be less than the current monthly repayments to the society.
"I remember the day when the society switched over to the voluntary donation arrangement, and the cong's just stopped asking for a donation from the public. Nothing gets mentioned about that anymore."
I've also noticed that. Not a talk during service meetings or similar arrangements to tell the publishers to remember to mention the voluntary donation arrangement. Nobody asks, nobody donates. People just take for granted that all the literature is free. Strange - both by the public and by the publishers.
i just looked at the january 2014 wt study magazine, page 16. pgph 16. i think the wt is finally relenting.... jeus was the "mediator" after all!.

year reign, the messianic kingdom will.
"According to Blondies Wt qoute that the resurrected ones are under Adamic sin! I can not get over that major error! Apparently they are not under Jesus sacrifice! And Gods grace!"
They according to the WT very much ARE under Jesus' sacrifice and God's grace, and their past sins have been paid for thru the penalty of their death. But they are not yet perfect in the sence Adam and Eve originally were, and it is not until the end of the 1,000 year Kingdom that they will reach human perfection, after they have benefitted fully from Jesus' sacrifice and God's grace thruout the Kingdom and not rebelled. They are raised with penalty paid but not sin-free as to possible future sins.
