  Why Won't They Carbon Date This?

  in 2001 a field research team unearthed the worlds most complete dinosaur fossil, a brachylophosaurus nicknamed leonardo.

  this incredible dinosaur has all of its skin covering its body, missing only a bit on the head and tail.

  It is a bit funnt to read statements like these. Evolutionary theory has managed the unbelievable, to state that "of course" there are anomalies, and even to state that they "are to be expected". That is a rather far cry from the smooth path envisioned by Darwin. It is Orwellianism and double-talk par excellance, to at the same time state that you have the step by step evoution and also state that anomalies not only exist but are to be expected - yes perhaps even be the rule .......

  And the second statement, the beautiful wishful thinking that in due time, as further evidence will come to light, THEN it will all be oh! so clear to us, THEN we will understand it all, THEN we will laugh at how stupid we or our ancestors were today, because THEN we will know the Truth wchich will set ut free ...... With absolutely no basis in present knowledge or evidence, they are able to continue giving us fairytales like these, like a giant on clay feet, suspended above the basis of facts.

  Replacing "any day now" with "as further evidence comes to light". What if there ain't any "any day now", what if there just ain't any "further evidence"?

  hello friends,.

  i know this has been brought up elsewhere, but i wanted to relate an experience a witness friend shared with me only last night.

  i'd appreciate any additional details others may have on this topic.. many of us are aware that the wts is "downsizing" its staff at branch offices around the world, including brooklyn bethel.

  I have a question on the Circuit Accounts Scam thread

  i didn't want it to get buried and i'd really like to know.. so i knew pretty much what he was saying was true, but what i don't get is how the creative accounting works.. i mean you have to show expenses on the ledger - and i mean real expenses, like the co/do expenses along with receipts.. you have actual costs for the power coming into the building.

  the paper supplies and cleaning supplies.

  the vacuum cleaners and mops and other sundry items, and you have to have receipts for all that.. i also know that when you made a "donation" it was off the books at the circuit level as far as accounts were concerned.. but how is money not being accounted for?.

  Well, if that is all you can come up with ........... It was old Henschel who on a zone servant visit to Malta experienced that a well-to-do brother paid for him and his wife a stay at a good hotel while they were there, in stead of staying with local brothers as they had earlier done.

  If that is all you have - it just ain't much.

  Not so. Ther are not regarded as fakes or unstable - although they very well might be - but they are still regarded as substitutes for those of the remnant who have proven unfaithful. But the solving of the problem lies in the fact that these new ones DO NOT COUNT as to the question of whether or not we are close to the end of this world. The proof of the closeness lies in the new overlap teaching, that the present remnant have to have been overlapping with the 1.0 version. Those who have not overlapped, are still considered valid remnant members, but can not be used to tell that this appointing of new substitutes can go on forever and ever, thus stretching the end time period. The end time period follows the 2.0 version, and if the substitutes can be called the 3.0 version, then they do not count as to the chronology.

  below are the average occurances of specific words plottet as a function of year for the watchtower.

  the occurences has been normalized such that for instance an occurance of 0.1 correspond to the given word being used an average of 0.1 times per page in the watchtower for that year.

  (a page is assumed to contain 3000 characters).. any good ideas?

  European Court to favor the WT and condemns the French goverment

  unfortunately, the european court of human rights has just condemned the french government against jehovahs witnesses.

  if you recall, the french state was claiming 23 million euro (abt 33 million us dollars) taxes on contributions received by the french watchtower during the years 1993-96, which, by now, had climbed to about 58 million euro (abt 83 million us dollars) counting interests and charges.. it is not easy to size the wt.

  One will notice that nowhere in the official news release does the WT claim 17 million members. The jw-media.org only mentions the number of followers in France itself. There is no reason to make a huge thing out of something not existing.

  Rutherford and the new DVD

  can anyone tell me why rutherford is not shown giving a talk or speaking in public?

  i noticed that russell was on film in the first dvd -out of darkness but rutherford was shown in a picture only - never speaking or doing a public presentation, same goes for the second one -they have an actor portraying him... was there a reason?

  was his persona that bad?

  I've listened to tens of speeches by him, and he never screams or yells or anything, he is low-tuned, calm, a bit Southern and cool.
