  Just read that Carl Olof Jonsson died yesterday

  for newbies, who was carl olof jonsson?

  he was a jw in sweden who was challenged by a householder in the 1960s, who pointed out to him that secular history books don’t agree with watchtower that jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bce, but instead place the event 20 years later.

  the reason the date is important is because it is the starting date for jw chronology which leads to 1914 as the end of the gentile times, and the beginning of the last days, as jws understand it.

  it somehow never set well with me that if a boy got baptized that his mother couldn't pray or hold a study with him or in his presence without a headcovering.

  maybe some of you were baptized as a boy in the home...how did that make you feel?

  former jw chorus member, original song performer and jw movie actor by day (and nightclub singer by night, not a bethelite & never was) nicolas king still hasn't come out about his sexuality or 'spiritual standing', although the clues have been accumulating for some time.

  Been years since Ive gone - should I bother with a letter?

  sig other is half assed still in, one family member is in... its been years... wondering if i should just let it be or just call up hq and say i resign... i will be pissed if they announce shit at the kh, though i dont even remember the last one i went to... lol.

  for me, its none of anyone elses business... thoughts?.

  I did it after many years out and I couldn`t give a stuff if they read a letter or not.

  I veiwed it as my DF the cult.

  All of my family are out with only one niece still in.It`s her loss not talking to any of her family.

  Just my 2 cents worth.

  I’m leaving some money to the JW’s in my will

  i just recently had my will set up and have decided to leave them some money.

  i’ve left instructions to not tell them how much and they must attend the will reading when i die.

  i’ve have left them the princely sum of 1 pence.

  if jesus memorial meal is meant to follow on from the jewish passover celebration, would someone explain to me why the jehovah's witness community are holding their "lord's evening meal" on tuesday 4th april; when the jewish community are not holding their 2023 passover until the 5th april 2023?

  doesn't this mean that the jehovahs have got their date wrong?.

  i remember our was tuesday, thursdays and saturdays.

  in reality it's crazy they hade so many meetings.

  Yes ,and I`m ashamed to admit it as it shows how stupid and gullible I was and to bring my two boys up in this cult of a religion.

  But thankfully we are all out now and getting on with our lives.

  My memory is failing me somewhat now ,but I convinced my then GF who became my wife and remained a JW for between 30-40 years
