  "this vision aims to return humans to the moon, and then to use it as a staging point for a manned mission to mars.

  i wonder if jws will be required to canvas those areas too.

  For the naysayers that don`t beleive man has set foot on the moon .

  There hasn`t just been one mission to the moon by Astronauts with two men but six missions equaling 12 men setting foot on the moon over a period of time.

  Do you honestly think other space age nations such as the Chinese ,Russians ,Indians , European space Agency etc ,etc. would sit idly by and let America get away with such a fraud ?

  Of course not they would let the whole world know it was all fake .

  But they don`t ,why ? because they all know its fact.

  JW Obession with the trinity

  so a few years i watched a lecture series by a man named dr. micheal heiser called the two powers in heaven, jesus in the old testament.

  funny thing was it wasn't even very evangelical in nature, so i turned off my religious binders and just watched it like a regular person.

  it turns out that the new testament is a hinge point in the bible.

  A question about the contemporary generation teaching following a conversation with a JW apologist

  i would like to ask the ex-jws on this site to put their ‘apologists hat’ back on for a moment, so that i can go through the overlapping generation teaching in an attempt to make sense of it.

  i apologise if these points have already been addressed on this site.a quick background for the reason for my request… having never confronted a jw apologist on the topic, i recently engaged with a jw regarding the official understanding of a ‘generation’ and unfortunately he didn’t have an answer to the points i was making.

  i was left a little confused as to what the official jw response would/should be.so i was hoping that my thoughts below might be considered from an apologist’s perspective.the point in question relates to this section of the watchtower article below from 2008, as well as the jw.org video explanation of the overlapping generation:---:w08 2/15[box on page 25] can we calculate the length of “this generation”?the word “generation” usually refers to people of various ages whose lives overlap during a particular time period or event.

  The GB / Jehovah`s Witnesses claim to base their beleifs solely on the Bible.

  And out of the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses let a matter be established of what is "truth"

  3 Bible scriptures that identify a generation as approximately 50 years in length.

  #1 , Matt.1: 17-18 , Abraham born 2018 BC / Jesus born 2 BC , 2016 years between them and 42 generatiions , = 48 years for one generation.

  #2 ,Luke 3 :23-38 that is 76 generations from Adam to Jesus a period of 4024 years ,4024 divided by 76 = 53 years . for one generation.

  And certainly Jesus never said anything of the sort.

  #3 , Luke 21: 20 - 32 ,Jesus died at age 30 ? ,this prophecy was fullfilled in the year 70 AD , again well within a 50 year timespan.

  And nowhere in the entire Bible is there a hint of an overlapping generation even suggested.

  Hi punk ,regarding the name Jehovah for GOD the 1st edition of "Aid To Bible Understanding" admitted that the name Jehovah may not be the correct pronunciation of his name but it is the most popular name in use today " unquote .

  The most popular name in use today by whom I ask ? They are referring to christendom and Bible commentators of course.! Who else would be using that name ?

  So it isn`t the most accurate name for GOD the GB were concerned with it was the most popular name that was used ,and they went with that .

  The Jerusalem Bible a Catholic Bible returned to the use of the historical name Yahweh as the name of God in the Old Testament, rendered as such in 6,823 places within this translation.
