(Matthew 28:18) Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth.

(1 Corinthians 15:27) For God “subjected all things under his feet.”

According to the Washtowel, Jesus is not going to have all of Jehovah's power & authority, because he'll [Jesus] need 144,000 dead/resurrected humans to help him run the earth:

w08 5/15 p. 15 par. 14 - Jehovah has also purposed that 144,000 anointed Christians be taken from the earth and raised to heavenly life as Christ’s joint heirs associated with him in administering earth’s affairs.

In fiction this is referred to as a "plot hole". Plot holes only occur in fiction.

According to at least the gospel book called "According to Matthew" (at Matthew 19:28) Jesus told his 12 apostles (yes, even Judas) that they "will sit on twelve thrones to judge the twelve tribes of Israel." The book of Revelation says that 144,000 virgin Jewish males (12,000 from each of 12 tribes) will serve as kings and priests.

Does this mean that according to the scriptures that Jesus Christ will delegate some of the authority which God the Father gave to him (according to the scriptures)? Or, is the NT Bible contradicting itself on this matter?

@ Disillusioned JW - The NWT says in Revelation that others will serve as "kings." However, the Greek word βασιλεύς (basileus) does not exclusively translate as 'kings.'

Here are other meanings of the same word: leader of the people, prince, commander, lord of the land.

Psalm 45:16 says, "Instead of Your fathers shall be Your sons, Whom You shall make princes in all the earth."(NKJV) No contradiction then.

As you probably know, Psalm 45 is also in harmony with the correct translation of Revelation 5:10 when it says "upon" the earth as opposed to the NWT claiming "over" the earth.

Either Jehovah think`s Jesus isn`t quite up to it and not capable of doing a good job or he knows it, but isn`t 144000 human helpers a bit over the top ?

Don't forget that Jesus will appoint the 'faithful slave' over all his belongings. The eight governing body members will humbly take on 'all authority' at the earliest opportunity and likely will reward Jesus with an assignment such as dialogue consultant on 'the good news according to Jesus'.

The rest of the 144,000 will have to watch their step!

No. (If you are a believer...although the name Jehovah(tm) for God is a bit dubious for starters), but the Governing Body(tm) of Jehovah's witnesses(TM) (Pee be upon them), are holding back a fulfilling life from their captive Jobots (If you are a believer or not).

Odious scammers like the WBT$ need to be eradicated but never will be. As long as there are people, there are the easily conned majority.

Hi punk ,regarding the name Jehovah for GOD the 1st edition of "Aid To Bible Understanding" admitted that the name Jehovah may not be the correct pronunciation of his name but it is the most popular name in use today " unquote .

The most popular name in use today by whom I ask ? They are referring to christendom and Bible commentators of course.! Who else would be using that name ?

So it isn`t the most accurate name for GOD the GB were concerned with it was the most popular name that was used ,and they went with that .

The Jerusalem Bible a Catholic Bible returned to the use of the historical name Yahweh as the name of God in the Old Testament, rendered as such in 6,823 places within this translation.

Not when you consider there are 22 million people working in government jobs in the US. This is around 14% of the labor force and 7% of the total population.

The reality is that the 144K are not part of the church age at all.The church isn't spoken of in the book of Revelation after chapter 3.

The 144k are male Jewish virgins that appear to evangelize the world AFTER the rapture.

The church is in heaven with Jesus at this point.
