made a big mistake of talking about being raised as a jehovah's witness to some old friends and family.

people have told me that i am still a jws even though i've never been baptized.

i'm in school for social services, dealing with student loan debt, and a lot of other debt.

Sorry to say this Joliette ,but you need professional help that can`t be had here .If you think as you imply that you will get support from people who will watch your back and help you,you are delusional .simply stated

You never got baptized, you were never a Jehovah`s Witness, and by your own words never will be ,so why do you think they will be there for you if you go back as a non believer ?

Not meaning at all to be mean joliette ,but you need to see a therapist who understands cults and how to deal with life without them.

Looking back on some of your posts my friend I think you enjoy being in the situation you have made for yourself , but if you go back and get baptised pulling the wool over JW`s eyes for a time, the day will come when you will be disfellowshipped and you are going to be in a far worse position than you are now .

If you can`t cope now you certainly won`t be able to cope then.

And nobody here will be able to help you.

I must admit gambling can get out of hand as it can be an addiction that can easily get out of control .

Having said that I still play the lottery / Keno and I go in a tipping competition with the races every saturday at the local bowls club.

The wife likes to play the pokies sometimes. over the years she has won 5 -6 thousand dollars on a number of occasions .You have to remember she has a set amount to play with when she plays over a long period of time but a win is a lot of cash all at once.

The most I have ever won was on Keno a 7 number jackpot of 13600 dollars.but I have often won 1800$ ,640$ playing 5 and 6 numbers .

I admit you do have to control your spending and keep to a budget or yo can go off the rails.,it does take discipline.

As i said on your other post there is a big difference to being the most popular as against the most distributed magazine in the world .

just think about it ,8.5 million JW`s = 8.5 million WT`s and Awakes for starters and then what they are supposed to give away to the public in their ministry ?

I bet half the JW`s don`t even read all of whats in the mags because they have heard it all before ,ho hum here we go again ,same old shit ,year in and year out.

Most if not all of Christendom wouldn`t have a bar of the Watchtower or Awake magazines .

Don`t mistake the most popular with the most widely distributed magazine in the world .

There is a helluva big difference .

And this has been a topic discussed previously ,use the search option at the top right hand corner of the page..

I would add it`s the most widely distributed magazine in the world that is not read by anyone and quietly thrown in the rubbish bin.

So it can`t by definition be the most popular.

But to me that is just another religious idea exposed by humans ,if the universe did have a beginning there had to be "something" prior to that for the Universe to come into being .

To answer your questions ,I converted when I was 20, and it was a gradual awakening starting with many small things that just grew till it couldn`t be ignored / excused anymore.

I now consider myself an atheist as far as any man made God Bible religion is concerned but I am still in awe of the universe life and know that I dont have all the answers .
