How Long Is Forever?
by HiddenPimo inimagine you have a spoon and you dig out one scoop of soil from the ground in central new york.
then you put that soil in a bag and carry it with you as you travel from there to the grand canyon.
you repeat these steps until you have created another grand canyon in new york and filled the original one in arizona.

Currently at the "Congregation Bible Study" (or Bible study without the Bible) "Jesus-The Way, the Truth, the Life" book is examined.
I`ve been out for nearly 30 years and i find that book or should I say the title of the book to be a misnomer if that`s the right word. Since when have they ever highlighted JESUS in their teachings ?
It`s always been about Jehovah this Jehovah that , Jehovah ,Jehovah,Jehovah, never about JESUS.

Today's WT Study: "Return to Jehovah" - Lots of Elephants in the Room
by Room 215 intoday's article prods active jws to participate in the effort to reactivate us backsliders.. unfortunately, it fails to prepare the participants to adequately address the real reasons so many have left and want nothing frtherethan to be left alone: the un and child abuse scandals, prophetic failures; dumbed-down, increasingly specious and simplistic verbiage in literature and talks, the cult of personality and unwarranted veneration of those 8 singularly unremarkable members of the gb, etc., etc..

He said he couldn’t do that because they weren’t in his congregation. (Both congregations are less than a 10 minute drive from my house.) I replied, “That’s funny, because that’s exactly what the elders in their congregation said to me—they couldn’t help because I’m not in their congregation!” (I had previously taken the initiative to contact the elders in my family’s congregation asking for help to reconcile our broken relationships. The elders in that congregation refused using the lame excuse I mentioned above.)
I have experienced the very same thing ,if your no longer in any of their congregations and in another state or territory they don`t want to know you ,your not their responsibility anymore.
And as you say ,"so much for an international brotherhood"

What`s your thoughts on this ?

Cowardly Change of Policy in the UK
by Slidin Fast inthe britain branch has called a confidential meeting tonight with a controversial announcement.
the message is of such import that it was transmitted by word of mouth only, nothing in writing, ears only.
a decision made by the governing body of jehovah's witnesses and transmitted orally down the chain of command, a decision proving the leadership of this spirit lead body.. the gdpr laws in the uk have been interpreted by wt lawyers so that all record keeping relating to the public has been banned, telephone witnessing and letter writing also, forbidden.. now in a show of supreme bravado the publishers are to be informed that if they wish to, if they dare, they may write to people at their own risk.. bear in mind, nothing is in writing.

I am in Australia and I have received a letter like this.....Addressed to the householder. "As one of your neighbours I am concerned" etc, etc.,with a leaflet "Who Controls The World",Then refers to JW.ORG and the local Congregation on the back of the envelope.
The writer only gives a first name and no personal contact number for her.
Is the same thing happening here ?
Edit to add: If she really beleived her Bible she would know that the GOD of the Bible rules the world Rom.13:1-7

I miss going to the local club and chewing the fat with friends and talking a lot of bullshit downing a few beers and maybe having a punt on the horses or trying my luck with a few keno tickets. Travelling in our car and just enjoying the local countryside and having lunch with my better half at a club in a different town or a seaside pub is something we both miss also. And of course travelling a couple of hours away and spending time with one of our sons and his wife and a dinner at a local restaurant. At our age we don`t have high expectations anymore.Everyday we wake up in the morning is an unexpected blessing. LOL

“The Asiatic Mind” — Watchtower 1956
by slimboyfat insearching instances of the word “simplify” in watchtower literature, i stumbled across this.. the asiatic mind finds it difficult to accept new ways, to simplify and to make advantageous changes.
they fear conversion and dislike others’ offering them help.
many continually live in a realm of unreality and refuse to face modern facts of life.

I think it was about the 70`s or 80`s that someone wrote in "letters from readers" about how the Japanese culture of being ,well displaying the fruitages of the spirit without having it drummed into them from the Bible ,that it was just natural for them.
And I can`t remember what reply was given ,if anybody has recollections of that ?
