  i'm not totally new here, as i'm reading since some time...then i tried to sign up but had some technical issue with the email,eventually recovered..... i'm from north italy, for your info from the region where the covid is worse.

  i'm male, generation millennial(...unfortunately not the overlapped generation :))) ) ..sorry to don't go in so much details, but i'm pimo ;).

  I had to give you a like for this ,I can just imagine in years to come they would be saying in their boastful sessions that they were first in giving out the info of safe practising ,isolating ,hand washing with soap and alcohol etc,etc.etc.

  You gotta hand it to them they are experts at re-writing their own history to suit the time .

  i guess you could make a case of more families being together although that might not be the best situation.

  less cars and pollutants mean we can breathe better.

  if you were ever uncomfortable in crowds, this could be good news.

  I can relate to that minimus ,also the fact when the weather is fine and mild i can sit out on the back deck or the front deck depending on where the sun is in the sky with either a beer or a glass of wine in hand and watch the world go by.

  And the world does go by as the medical clinic is only a few doors down.

  I loved the comments about the dogs ,I miss my " Lilly" of 16.5 years and "daisy" our cat of about 13 years.

  i am no longer a study.

  during the onset of the pandemic the person who used to be my bible study teacher began to reach out to me.

  initially, i just thought that she wanted to know that i was well.

  M.N. When a Jw calls you on the phone ,sends you a letter or even an e-mail ,they most definitely are counting the time they spend and report it for congregation records and there own brownie points.

  Even if most of the conversation isn`t about religion.

  M.N. & L.H.G. The JW`s have double standards about higher education and their being critical of it .

  I don`t think it was that long ago they were appealing for brothers in the Congs.whether they had experience in accounting or legal matters ,and of course they have a shit load of brothers and sisters around the world in the legal profession and of course in accounting .?

  They didn`t get these qualifications out of the local bookshop " Lawyers For Dummies" or "Accounting For dummies" now did they.

  Vin Toole is a lawyer for WT here in Australia and appeared b4 the Aust.Royal Commission into Institutions Of Child Sexual abuse and in typical lawyer fashion when asked about { theocratic warfare or shunning } ( memory fades me a bit here ) anyway whatever it was he said and I quote "I have heard of the expression but I don`t know what it means. ...and that`s just an outright lie in my opinion. And while on the subject of the A.R.C.into child sexual abuse ,the Aust.G.B.member Geoffrey Jackson when asked if he thought the JW religion was the only religion God was using replied and I quote " that would be presumptuous for me to say that " another liar.because they teach all other religions are tools of satan to mislead everybody.

  I have more story`s about higher education / JW`s if either you want to pm me about them.

  You dodged the bullet in canceling your study with them .

  Zoom meetings to continue thru July

  co is coming and expecting to zoom it in july.

  also there is no talk about starting to slowly go back to the hall.

  like having 1 group at the hall and the rest on zoom, etc.

  Are All Of The Bethels Worldwide In Shutdown (Covid 19) ? Still Operating ?

  how about all of the printing activities including wt and awake magazines ,tracts and brochures etc.?.

  are they all still a going concern ?.

  how many people would there be on average at any one bethel home ?.

  I have just looked at the John Hopkins map of Wallkill New York,Ulster N.Y.and there is 1252 confirmed cases and 30 deaths.

  And when you look at the whole of New york City it shows their are 18069 deaths.with a lot more confirmed cases.

  I was thinking that the JW religion having its HQ in NY for so many years you would think there would be a lot of Jehovah`s Witnesses living their ?

  The odds are that many of them would be struck down by the virus ?

  Not that we will ever know I suppose.

  The G.B./J.W./WTB&TS / F&DS, religion over the years have given a specific time-line of events that would occur when the Great Tribulation breaks out .

  With this pandemic upon us I find it weird that the rank&file JW cherry picks for themselves out of those events and come to the conclusion that this is the start of the GT ?

  Correct me if I am wrong (and I know you will ) Wasn`t the eighth king ,the United Nations going to attack all religions and wipe them out ,only to find that the religion of Jehovah`s Witnesses was still active and so they turned on them ,then Jehovah stepped in and brought about the GT.? and later to be followed by Armageddon ?

  And the G.B./ WTB&TS / F&DS class say nothing to quell these statements by the rank and file members .

  Isnt it in their interests to do so ?

  Which only adds to the non JW community when this is all done and dusted that Jehovah`s witnesses are just a bunch of nut cases always spouting about the end of the world and such and nothing ever happens .?

  HOW DOES THAT HELP THEIR CAUSE ?

  not a lot to say, except that i studied with jw's then gave up when i realised it wasn't the truth as they call it.. the ordinary jw's are generally nice people, but their elders are mostly little dictators from what i saw.

  Well at least you dodged the bullet that most of us on here got hit with.Many if not all of us here who converted at some stage now wonder ,who the hell was that person that joined this cult and we look back in embarrassment that we ever did so.how could we have been so gullible ?

  Born ins of course had no choice but to be brought up by their parents and have to work it out for themselves as they get older .

  My two sons were born ins and thankfully they have seen the light and are no longer JW`s.Phew.

  Now, if I may ask when you were studying with them ,what made you realise it wasn`t the "truth"

  And also ,why were you studying with them in the first place ?

  i`m just curious and like to know people` s experiences . ( not to be confused with WT experiences )

  Another question if I may ,how old were you when you were studying with them ?

  Wearing Masks/ China&Other Asian countries

  i've been reading that in asian countries if you go outside without a mask on, your looked at oddly and with disapproval.

  it seems they have been wearing masks for years.

  yet uk/us/canada/ and other countries do not.

  Aren`t masks supposed to be worn only once and then discarded ? Otherwise you can create more health problems if they are over used ?

  I`m not up to date on masks or what different types are available or what different advantages one type has over another type ,then of course comes the cost factor if people are out of work because of this virus ,how do they cope with this adde cost ? though I have no idea what they cost in the first place.

  I wouldn`t be against mandatory wearing a mask if its going to keep me and the missus and everybody else in the community safe ? while this pandemic is around .it just seems like its the sensible thing to do if it protects us all .
