a jw friend and i used to frequent a local restaurant together so often that if one of us showed up the waiter/owner would ask if the other was coming as well.

This is a good topic.

I have been out for many, many years ,and I still find myself reluctant to identify myself as a former JW with the many circle of friends I now have with the two clubs I frequent each week.

I have often thought about it but the subject of religion has just not come up.......... yet.

I think it would be very interesting as to their response / attitude to this revelation, as I have been out / in this community for the past 30 odd years .

I do not believe i have a problem with identifying myself as a former JW ,it`s just the fact that the opportunity has never arisen.

Religion is not a preferred subject of my associates .

spent 8 very active years in, then 8 years out as an agnostic.

got saved in 2004 and been living the born-again christian bible-believing life ever since.

Charles the Third and the Two-Headed Beast

i was reading an article about the pomp and circumstance around the first coronation in nearly a century.. made me think of the revelation book (the red one, not the bible) and the picture of the two headed beast with a sword and if i have some time today i will see if i can’t find it and age it a bit, it seems the sword is a bit dull and the two heads are now both octogenarians with severe dementia, kind of funny to see that instead of “swift judgment” we’ve come to internal decay.. what do you canadians, english, scots, irish and australians think about your new leadership?.

I thought Charles dumping Dianna for Camilla ,would have been the end of him and here he is King ? The sooner Australia becomes a Republic the better ? Or at least dump the monarchy.

While I considered myself a true blue believer ,I did have a good work ethic and was always employed .I left school at 14 wanting to earn my own money and it was my first job when a workmate introduced me to the "truth" back in 1960 ,and it wasn`t till the mid 90`s that I actually walked away from religion.

I convinced my then GF to accept it and we were married in a KH and brought up two sons in the cult as I now know it to be.I also was instrumental in getting my SIL and her two daughters to become JW`s.

Only one niece remains a captive ,all the rest have escaped and I`m the only tragic ex JW who loves this site ?

Maybe that`s my punishment for being such a fool .

Getting back to topic I totally agree that the cult religion of JW`s does indeed spawn a certain degree of mental illness.

Luckily because of my work ethic I own my own home paid outright on my retirement .

what that means?.

elders will need the courage to follow instructions "may relate to delivering a symbolic hailstone message...".. in another section "major world events may raise some from spiritual slumber".

I say let them bring on a hailstone message to be delivered to the whole world .The sooner the better . Why?.

Because once it`s been delivered there is no turning back.

And when nothing happens over a period of time ,surely many ,many, more will wake up that it`s all a bullshit made up religion with no truth in it whatsoever.

1914 and thereabouts was supposed to be the end of this system of things ,then speculation was rife during the second world war ,then the date of 1975 being 6000 years of human history ending according to WT chronology,and that wasn`t the first time they said that there was another date they they previously said the same thing. and it would be appropriate for the 1000 years rest day ,based on their 7000 year creative day to start.

And not forgetting the end of the 20th century was another time when the end would/could come .

And as always nothing ever happened .

Why would a loving all knowing all powerful GOD , allow Satan his apposer to be the Ruler of this world, to be the God of this system of things ? and to wreak havoc on humans that Jehovah created , as he has done for thousands of years ?

If he is a GOD of LOVE ?
