i'm going to take a wild stab in the dark here and guess that the watchtower is having a wonderful time over the whole ukraine situation.
is the whole " end of times " thing being pushed again to bring dissidents back into line .
they must be seeing as a gift from above .

should we refer watchtower as to a online religion now?
i mean we could discuss if they ever return to kingdom hall's in the future.
if most of them haven't been sold.
Maybe they will go to an on-line religion with their own TV station,it can be profitable for them if they do it right .
Look at Jimmy Swaggert Ministeries and his fanily business , or Joyce Meyer Ministeries just to name a couple .
They are two very successful TV Evangelistic shows that still flourish today in many country's .
this is an interesting and intriguing new law (or, it will be if enacted in its present form).. quote: "the proposed new religious discrimination act is intended to prevent a person from being discriminated against on the basis of their religion.".
fair enough, but to get it through the house of representatives last night, the government accepted some changes.. the first draft (discussed last night) had a clause that may have impacted the rights of some gay and/or trans-sexual students at religious schools by allowing a religious school to expel such a student.
last night the government was forced to accept changes that removed that possibility.
FTS
I understood the issue concerned children, enrolled in a religious school from an early age, reaching (puberty??) and finding they were same sex attracted or transexual and doing or saying something that would lead the school authorities to believe they were gay or transexual, who then expelled them from the school.
I concur with what you are saying ,FTS and I think rather than a government getting involved in this issue ,the religious institution in question should be able to have a frank discussion with the child and his/her parents and come to an amiable solution for both sides pointing out their core values.
Personally I have no issue with gay / transexual people .I have a gay BIL and nephew who are both gay and we get along just fine no problems ,I enjoy their company just as much as I enjoy anybody else`s company.
Just to set the record straight.

In my mind if that law had passed,it would have discriminated against any organization Christian or otherwise to enforce rules for entry into their establishments.
It would have set a bad precedent that any organization Christian or otherwise had rules of entry and some smart ass would object to.
I`m not religious now by any means but I agree that a Christian institution has the right to say who can and who cannot be a part of it.
There are plenty of other options they can choose to go to rather than force your will on an institution to change its policy. IMHO
What`s your view? I`d be interested ?
i was wondering if anyone is aware of the jw’s in general being involved financially and/or as volunteers in charity organizations?
i was a born in jw for 56 years and left in 2016. as far as i remember there was never any encouragement to help in the community in any way.
including soup kitchens, tutoring at schools, united way, etc.
I have been in 7 congregations in my 32 years as an active JW in 3 States of Australia and I have never seen or heard from the Society as they used to be called, any assistance monetary or otherwise from the JW religion to any needy person ,widow or orphans that needed help or assistance .
The onus was always put back on the individual members of the congregations to provide any assistance needed.
Recently, when many old time workers / members were laid off ,they were just sent back to neighboring congregations who were to provide for their needs, with no assistance from the GB/JW religion.
did anybody else catch it?.
he said that people who come back in the earthly resurrection would be given a body "reasonably similar" to the one they had prior to death.. what the almighty hootch?.
"similar"?.
And where in the world did this gem come from ? Out of his butt? They, the GB , have probably been pondering questions that XJW`s raise about the resurrection ,and this is the best answer they can come up with .
I`m sure some little old sister / brother will be thrilled with this new light ?
am iiii off topic remarks at the anual meeting, are online at broadcasting.. he says in the early 70s he did not believe the end was near, and told his sons not to believe jw's who stating the end is near because the system could go on to 2020.. g..
Would it surprise anyone on this forum if AM 111 played loose with the truth ?
The WT/JW religion revise their history all the time so it shouldn`t surprise us that a GB member can do so ?
question for former elders:.
how much of your time was spent quelling gossip and rumors floating around.
i'm not talking about csa type stuff, just regular insignficant stuff that people occupied their time over..
In my experience Elders wives were the principle gossip makers in a congregation where a lot of it started.
In my 32 years as an active JW I attended 6 different congregations and was a friend of a few Elders and their wives,
Nudge ,nudge ,wink wink.

here is a brief list of the most common arguments (or statements used in the construction of their arguments) jehovah’s witnesses make that are fallacious in nature:-.
--we are the true religion because we only teach what is written in the bible.
-We are the true religion because we only teach what is written in the bible
Do they teach that the God of the Bible is a genocidal , homicidal ,maniac , guilty of crimes against humanity , sanctioning slavery ,women as spoils of war , that children women and old men are worthy of death and not to feel sorry for them ?
That according to the Bible, God is responsible for millions if not billions of deaths over the duration of time that the Bible spans.
Whereas I think the Bible only accounts Satan as being responsible for about only 10 people`s death.
And Jesus Christ stands firmly behind and in support of God his father.
Read the Bible without pre-conceived religious ideas and beliefs.

hey everyone, i'm writing a new book.. it's the entirely fictional story about a character called "roy devons", an obese clown who was kicked out of clown college because he couldn't stop touching himself.
he launches his own youtube channel where he tells the world how wrong and unfunny clowns really are.
the world already knows this, and never really had much todo with clowns anyway, although some other ex-clowns felt like they needed to be reminded regularly of their past lives.. he hits upon the idea of asking for donations to support efforts to convince ex-clowns to get their prostates checked.
That was funny Simon ,have a beer or two on me.
