JWN poster/forum member Jada known as 'serenitynow' passed away...

found out on fb friday .

not sure if anyone else found out, but i take long breaks from the exjws movement.

had to do a serious search for her name, because she wasnt as active on jwn anymore...not sure how she passed but her sister said (according to another ex jws) that she had been sick for a while.. i met her once here in milwaukee, had a great time hanging out with her.

i just watched this movie today and still not sure what to make of it .. did / do these people really believe what they preached ?

on the one hand i would say they did ,however on the other hand they knew religion was a gold mine for them .. and their lifestyle how they live reflected that .. and i can see the gb of the wt in it for the same reasons but they do it without all of the theatrics that these televangelists seem to thrive on.. i look forward to your thoughts on the movie..

my in-laws are two such people.

people who pioneered and did not work and try to save, instead they made just enough to get by and waited for the end to come.

now my mil is in palliative care and the state is paying for her keep, my fil lives in a dilapidated home and can not keep it up.

I find it ironic that JW`s paints Christendom as the counterfeit to true Christianity and then has to rely on Christendoms aged care homes to live in as they get older.

for the last 15 year's probably 25 person i knew or more were df, pimo, left by own will, inactive.

Just think though if they do have anywhere near 8 million members who only donate $1 a week that is $ 8 million dollars per week ,not bad eh ?

Multiply that by 52 weeks in a year ? No wonder the GB and their wives don`t want to give up their lifestyle.

Armageddon house?

the other night, my wife and i were driving through a upscale suburb with old, large, beautiful homes.

there is one house that my never jw she really likes.

as we drove by the house, i turned to her and said, "that's your armageddon house.

Unless Jehovah somehow changes the laws of nature in the new system, who is gonna maintain all those Armageddon houses?

Correct hoser , Will there still be an electricity industry ? with a work force to maintain it ?

Same with Gas .Will there still be a gas industry ? with a work force and who will maintain it ?

" " Water / Sewerage ,will there still be people working in these areas to provide them and maintain the systems?

Jehovah`s Witnesses do not use their thinking abilities or reason on these thoughts they just put it all down to Jehovah will sort it out .

if you like criminal minds check out season 13 episode 6, the bunker.

of course it borrows from cults in general but some jw similarities as well, such as emotional propaganda videos, us vs them, telling new converts that they're going to be persecuted and told lies about the organization, end of the world fear etc.. here's an idea: if you're pimo, watch it with a jw relative and watch the discomfort ensue 😏.

i answered a question on quora about jw flip flops .

i mentioned, amongst other things , the 1975 debacle.

how witnesses were told that armageddon was coming in the fall of that year.

Gen1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" .

The WT/JW `s have stated in their publications that this could have taken place millions if not billions of years ago ,we don`t know .

The creative days of 7000 years only applies to when God turned his attention to the earth and making it a paradise for humans .

I think some people get confused over that distinction .

DOC ,it took me 32 years ,maybe we were slow learners .Looking back now ,and how my mind was before joining the JW`s ,I was 19-20 when i did. Who was this person ? I can`t believe the person I was back then did so ?

When I was a child ,12 yrs old I rebelled about being told by my parents to attend Sunday school ,it was bad enough I had to go to real school 5 days a week .

At school I wouldn`t join the cadets as that would interfere with my own free time , so how did i get sucked into slaving for the WT / JW religion ?

I guess that they got me at a vulnerable time in my life.

With all of the bad publicity of late all around the world ,I can`t see how they could be expanding. And as far as those children who have been brought up in the religion with the exposure to the internet ,I can`t see many of them staying in the religion for very long. And those that do are probably living double lives to please their parents.

I left the religion in 1993 and I know even back then ,confirmed by both my sons youth`s were then living double lives.

Looking back over the history of the JW religion if the GB ever really did believe they were given the "truth" from God ,no way have they ever believed it themselves especially after Freddie Franz died maybe even before.

And they have been lying about everything else ever since just to keep themselves and their wives in the lifestyle they have been accustomed to.

Without wanting to be pedantic : The Jehovah`s Witness religion was never given approval as having the "truth" by God or Jesus, in 1919 as they claim .As an organization they didn`t exist then until the 1930`s .

It was the International Bible Students Association ,IBSA that can rightfully claim that God-Jesus chose as dispensing "truth" and I think they are still in existence today aren`t they.
