He was certainly one of the most influential figures in the " History of Jehovah`s Witnesses " also.

Terry, Thank you for posting your experience and sharing it with us as it really shows what the WT/JW religion needlesly put so many young men / boys through in those years.

Then changing their policy years later ,and I`ll bet you never got an apology or any compensation at all for what you and the many other young men / boys were put through.

today, marking the second anniversary of the australian national apology to victims and survivors of institutional child sexual abuse, the prime minister of australia has announce in federal parliament the intention to place sanctions against the jehovah’s witnesses in relation to child sexual abuse.. quote from prime minister:.

the royal commission [into institutional response to child sexual abuse], the [national] apology [to victims and survivors of institutional child sexual abuse] and these yearly reports are about accountability: bringing the truth into the light ... we still have, reprehensibly, four institutions that have been named publicly and that have blatantly refused to join the redress scheme.

they are jehovah's witnesses ... it's not acceptable.

Jehovah`s witnesses have backed themselves into a corner now ,if they back down now and give in to the demands of the Government they will lose face among the R&F.

If they stick to their guns and keep refusing to join the redress scheme they will be penalized by losing there charitable status and their tax exemptions.

And public opinion will be aware of bad publicity that will hurt the organization

And, if I might add if these two are the best candidates America can produce to run ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL COUNTRY`S in the world ,then all I can say is ............watch this space ?

Thanks barbara and Joe for this info.I `ll look forward to see how this plays out in a court of law .But i won`t hold my breath because the law can be an ass at times.

However it is good publicity for Belgium`s to know what goes on in WT /JW religion.A good anti-witness.

As an Aussie watching this debate ,I didn`t think much of it at all. I was expecting each candidate would have time to speak about what policy`s they were going to implement for the next 4 years if elected ,but there was none of that .The moderator had a set of questions for them to answer on a few issues.

Then it was a case of I did this you did that from both sides ,a tit for tat conversation ,each one`s word against the other.

I do think the moderator did a good job in controlling the debate but as an outsider ,I wasn`t impressed, neither came out a winner in my opinion .

Finding a mate

so here i am 44 yr old divorced and free to remarry jw sister....first time single since i was 19. but guess what no single brothers in my area.

i’ve tried those stupid jw dating sites and still no luck.

oh yes there are tons of single brothers, but guess what...they all expect a hot barbie to come running into their life.

I think that comment made about you was uncalled for and a hit below the belt ,you have every right to be offended by such a comment .

I would hope you are big enough to ignore such comments and not tar all of us with the same brush.

Nobody believed or had more faith in the JW organization than I did MissMary in my 32 years as a convert bringing up my 2 boys in the religion ,please do yourself a favour and at least look at the reasons why those who left and see for yourself whether they are justifiable reasons.

And not just label them as Apostates and dismiss them.
