Oh How Far I've Come

so this weekend my girlfriend and i will move into our own place together.

it turns out that “a cord of three strands is stronger” is bullshit and two people in a relationship are perfectly capable of being happy without outside influence.

what a journey i’ve had since leaving 3 and a half years ago!

', or similar).. but, i'd just like to start a thread about certain songs giving me goosebumps.

y'know, when you hear a song that profoundly effects you in some difficult-to-describe way and the hairs on your arm stand on end even though the room temperature's comfortably warm.. so, which songs give you goosebumps?.

Were You Willing To Die For Jehovah?

we were supposed to be dedicated unconditionally to jehovah god.

we were willing to be persecuted to the death if need be.

if it came to taking a blood transfusion or dying, we were loyal to jehovah and would be a martyr for god.

I`m sad to say this but for myself and probably for my wife I would not have consented to a blood transfusion as for my two boys? I`ll never know and thankfully I was never in that position .

All I can say is when I was a believer I was a TRUE believer .and that scares the shit out of me today as to what I might have done then and now come to regret it.

confused with nowhere to turn

i'm 43 and a divorced mother of 2. in january 2019 i met the man i thought i could spend the rest of my life with.

we were happy and even though our relationship wasn't perfect (like all relationships) i thought we had a chance and were building a life together with our young kids.

background on me - i've been divorced since 2012 after 12 years of marriage.

Whatever you do do not get sucked back into a relationship with this guy if ever he trys to smooth talk you into it .

One way to test his genuiness about cutting ties with JW`s if ever it came to that is this .

Get him to join this site and /or JWfacts.com ,because JW`s consider these sites worse than associating with the Devil Satan and labelling them as apostate sites .Sites that are critical of JW`s teachings and practices .Have absolutely nothing to do with them whatsoever,they say.

Contrast their attitude with Jehovah God and Christ Jesus who both tolerated and associated with Satan the Devil for thousands of years after all he is accused of doing according to the Bible.

If he resisted joining an apostate site such as this or JWFacts.com then he is still very much in the clutches of the JW mindset an American man made religion that sprang up in the late 1800`s like so many others.

robertson went on a rant (when asked by an audience member) on his thoughts about the death penalty.. robertson said:.

Where their is absolutely no error for doubt and its positively proven by whatever means and a life or lives have been lost then I have no problem with the death penalty in such cases.

The biblical reasons for carrying out the death penalty is atrocious ,barbaric and words fail me.

However with the American judicial system where a man or woman can spend 10 ,or more years on death row is also barbaric ,that is nothing but cruel mental torture .

They need to overhaul their judicial system for people on death row.

There was controversy over the death of Carl Chessman who was on death row for over 11 years and if things had gone to plan maybe he would not have been executed at all and just spent x amount of time being incarcerated for his crimes.

That`s just my 2 cents worth.

I remember seeing the movie based on his book when I was a teenager .

It's a stretch but do you suppose there are any JW's who go so far as to say that Jehovah is angry at Australia because of the ARC?

I`m not too sure about that Pete ,however having a bit of an insight on how JW`s reason ,being there myself at one time it wouldn`t surprise me if some took that attitude but I doubt very much that the organization would go that far.

Adam could have put Jehovah In Paradox!

i'm going to be the first and throw this out there for others but, from careful study of the scriptures i've found a loophole that even adam who was perfect at the time missed!

i'm sure everyone has heard the conundrum about ,"can god create a rock he can't lift?

" and if he can't create one he can't lift, then god cannot do everything" well that doesn't really matter since we know jehovah says himself he cannot lie right?

Well from my point of view and the NWT account it wasn`t Satan who decieved or lied it was Jehovah.

GOD told adam in the DAY he ate of the forbidden fruit he would surely die .Which of course he didn`t .

And presumably Adam would have told Eve that in the DAY either of them ate of the fruit they would surely die.

Now satan comes along and tells Eve that not only would she not die in that DAY but that her eyes would be open and she would know good and bad and in that way be like GOD.

So who is the liar and who told the truth ?

I am a little surprised nobody has made a comment on this thread unless of course it has already done the rounds previously . my apologies if this is the case

.Recommendation 16.29: Regarding shunning: "we confirm that Jehovah’s Witnesses do not shun victims of child abuse but treat them with compassion, understanding and kindness."

Surely that is a statement of twisting the "truth" of the matter using weasel words to give a wrong impression.

In other words their use of "Theocratic Warfare " in action.

Recommendation 16.28: Regarding the involvement of women: " apologise if they do in fact do this now because they certainly never would consider this when i was in over 25 years ago now.

we confirm that women can be and are fully involved in receiving and submitting evidence of child sexual abuse and in providing support to a victim.
Isn`t that just another lie ?A manipulating of the truth/facts to give the appearance of complying with the recomendations ?

When in fact they are not ?

Hi guys & gals,first off thank you for your concern & moral support and offers to help it really means a lot.

My wife & I ,did leave Lakes Entrance on Friday morning and just got back this afternoon 07/01/2020 .

With what we experienced before leaving and what was predicted could happen in the coming days I had to leave for my wifes sanity ,I think she would have had a nervous breakdown if I had not evacuated .

Our area is still under a watch & act situation because of what is expected weather wise this coming week-end.

Rising temperatures into the 40deg.C and strong winds again ,so we might be doing it all over again.

At least this time we will be better prepared .We got 2 hours drive away and stopped for some refreshments only to discover I hadn`t brought my wallet with me ,thank goodness she had some cards with her to get us by on.

At least we had a good time catching up with family & friends.

And our house is still standing and we are safe .

I have heard so far up to 2000 homes have been lost and the loss of sheep and cattle is just horrendous .

The toll on wildlife ,its just a major disaster.I believe over 100 American firerys are over here to help also and donations are coming in from everywhere ,i just hope it all goes to those in need.This little town is going to be devastated by this ,businesses rely on the tourism industry in summer to get them through the lean times in winter and now that all the tourists have gone ? Who knows how some will survive.

PS.Looking on the bright side of things i`m glad i made the decision to leave when I did ,I have just heard that the 3 clubs in town and the 1 pub all closed down for the best part of 3 days and nights.

I wouldn`t have survived .
