What age do you think that kids can stand on their own against this stuff?
I know you have got the answer from previous posts but I just have to comment also.
I was 20 when i converted to the JW religion and it wasn`t till 32 years later that I walked away from it.
Education about religion and critical thinking are the tools to prevent it from happening.

If Heaven is such a good place then how was it ever allowed to get to the state where a war was necessary.?
by smiddy3 ina precedent has been established .if it happened once it can happen again..

That`s a good point If Jehovah could indeed see into the future it would have made more sense if the Angels were dressed in full riot gear and carried AK47`s , OK people back then wouldnt know what they were reading but at least we would have discerned he can really tell the future.
All prophecys only ever dealt with things that the bible writers were aware of in that age period.
As an example : God writing the ten commandments on two tablets of stone ? According to the WT Jehovah was the ultimate chemist ,couldnt he have come up with something more durable ? Unbreakable ? than stone ?

I`m pleased to hear you are getting along with leading a more normal life now and that you have good friends that are not conditional friends .
I`ll leave it up to more experienced ones here that can help you with the problem you raised .
take care.

What is the housing / accomodation living conditions of all of the Governing Body Members ? Does anybody know ?
by smiddy3 ini would be very curious to know what standard of living they have .
and what type of housing each member has and what type of accomadation do they have and even what type of areas they are living in .
unlike many of the rank & file members who live in housing estates provided for the low income earners and pensioners ?

Thanks for relating your experience .How long ago would this have taken place ? More than 20 years ago ? I can believe that would be true of many years ago however with all of the changes made during the last 10-15 years I doubt whether that would still be the case today.I remember about 30 years ago when some crticism was levelled at them for the "extravagance" exspence of a stairway in one of the buildings they had completed and their reasoning was something like this, if Christendom can spend so much to worship their false God we who worship the true God Jehovah should be even better .( words to that effect )
So it wouldn`s surprise me now if they did`nt reason since they are Jehovah`s representatives on earth today we should be treated better than Christendoms clergy ,because we serve the true God.

And what type of housing each member has and what type of accomadation do they have and even what type of areas they are living in . Unlike many of the rank & file members who live in housing estates provided for the low income earners and pensioners ? who are struggling with living expenses.
And I think it would be a great eye opener if we could get this information somehow .
When I became a JW ,it was drummed into me that there were no clergy class and that everybody was treated equally . ( yeah right ) back then when a P.O. spoke from the platform he then sat down with the rest of the Congregation. ( how humble of him )
Do all of the Governing Body and their wives live in the same complex building ? or do some live out in the suburbs with there own private house .?
Another thought that just crossed my mind do any of them have holiday houses that they own ? that they can retreat to when the stress gets too great for them ?
I sincerely hope somebody can fill us in with all of the relevant information .
thank you.

Divorce/Terms of Agreement
by SFSDGUY ini'm a first time poster and i apologize if this topic has been discussed before.
when i met my wife she was disfellowshiped and were happy, got married, and had a kid.
after we had our daughter she got reinstated so her family and her jw "friends" could spend time with our daughter.

I'd really hold off trusting doing this yourself with a jw soon to be ex-wife, coming out okay and it all working out in the wash. I guess you haven't experienced the 'jw flip a bitch, in a nano second' scenario.
I`m with caves on where this is likely to end up. The Elders and her JW friends will all be in her ear to protect the child after the divorce to ensure your ex brings the child up as a JW.
Sorry, but if you think a verbal agreement with a JW is binding ,your very naive.
Do you want your daughter to become a JW and refuse a blood TF if it was necessary ? All because of the dictates of the hateful 8 sitting in their Ivory towers?

Maroochydore in Qld. Aus. on the Sunshine coast and not as commercialised as Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast . ( Or it wasn`t when I was their many years ago )
We used to holiday their quite a bit
Other than that I would choose Coolangatta on the border of NSW and QLD in Australia.a beautiful area ,come to think of it that would be my first choice as you are so close to the hinterland as well.
Another place where we spent many a holiday.
