now, her and this brother skipped town for an entire weekend and was married later in the week.
no reproving, no disfellowshipping.
WEll, that is what i was DF for, as far I know. Now, if they had other reasons, they didn't inform me of them. During the JC, all they talked about was me marrying outside the faith.
Although, they had been harrassing me for years for other things, such as lack of proper income, etc. Petty things.
My congregation was definately a screwed up one.

after much deliberation, i decided to go "out" at the end of a public talk.
it didn't go down too well, but at least i was able to give some of my reasons for leaving.. i've put some of the details on my homepage.

I recently found out that an old "friend" of mine, who is still in the borg, married. Now, her and this brother skipped town for an entire weekend and was married later in the week. No reproving, no disfellowshipping. Yet, when i married, I was df. NO, i didn't marry a brother. But we didn't skip town for an entire weekend, alone, either.
Just a little pissed. But I try not to dwell on it too much. Life is much better without the borg.

I did this a while back and Buddhism was at the top of my list while JW's were at the bottom. The Buddhism was 100%, 2 different types as a matter of fact.

don't break up families, well people lets give them a. few examples.
since i left the jehovah witnesses my mother .
Hmmm... My Mother has disowned me for leaving and hasn't spoken to me in over a year. My sister thinks she's so godly and doesn't speak to me. I've missed watching my baby sister grow up, she is now 10 and we don't even know each other. If she saw me out on the street, she wouldn't know me. My best friend, Tasha and her sister. My whole former cong. It was a very small town and a small cong of about 40 publishers so we were all close, like a family. They all look down their noses at me when I am in town.
OH, the day my mother annonced that she had disowned me (standing in my living room) she stood on the stoop and proceeded to spit on my husband. Now, my mother being HEP B Positive could have found herself with a large lawsuit for attempted murder, but we didnt' feel that was appropriate at the time. Although now I wish we had gone through with it. We really could use the money and they really shouldn't have all that drug money lying around in the bank if they are such good Christians, YWIM?

if it is possible can you post why you were disfellowshipped?
I have been df'd before. I was df'd for marrying "outside the Lord", but what the elders didn't realize untill after they made their decision what that I had also commited fornication with him before we were married. I am still married to the same man with 2 beautiful children.
I was reinstated a few months later, and one year after that I da'd myself.

my jw wife is teaching my nearly-3yr old to pray before meals.
i'm cool with that... doesn't bother me at all.
the problem is, i'd like to accept my role as father but i don't know how to lead in this area.
My family does not pray before meals. But when my children are at others' houses, where they pray, we bow our heads in respect (sound familiar??).
We do not often sit and eat together at the table as our schedules all differ. Yesturday I prepared a very nice meal and we all sat together at the table. My 3 year old son said that he liked eating that way and wanted to do it more often. So, you can sit at the table as a family and share in a meal together without having to bring an unknown diety into the picture.

surely the borg, correct me if i am wrong, tells (us)you to stay away from anything apostate.
to treat it with the disdain it deserves... so why?, i ask you, are you participating?
THey can post...it just gives us something to vent our frustrations about the WTS on....

i must say i thoroughly enjoyed doing streetwork for the first time in my life!!.
it was really cold here in chicago yesterday,snow clouds looming in the sky.
about 10 am i decided to run home for my cofee break.. as i rushed down the main street,walking quickly,i saw 2 groups of jw's w/ their mags on the main street near home.. i haven't seen any around my territory since last spring.. humph i thought.. i double-timed it home,bundled up,grabbed my stacks of silentlambs posters and ran back to the main street.. i stood on the corner,several feet ahead of them and started saying hi to passers by.
Too cool!! I love it! I need to get my printer working again so I can share. This is something I've not thought of. Since I live in a different state than my old cong no one would ever know me (like it matters anyhow).

i just wanted those kind-hearted, those gentle, those friendly ones of you to know that i wrote my letter of resignation as an elder yesterday, after having served in that capasity for 24 years.. those wishing to call me or any society "bastard", "sucker", "braindead" or anything, as they have before, i would ask please to refrain from that.
other comments would be welcome.. somehow, it is the armstrong quote about "one small step for man, one giant leap for humankind" (approximately) the other way around, "one giant leap for (a) man, one hardly noticeable step for humankind".. ok, that was that.
