The one time the elders showed any interest after I left/faded they parted with 'we miss you and hope you will come back one day'. I didn't want them to feel like that and certainly never wanted another conversation with them, which is why I DA'd. I'm sure your friend won't get any more 'friendly' visits.

The Governing Body told two Elders to call !!!!
by Phizzy ina friend from the other end of the country just 'phoned and told me that a couple of days ago two elders knocked on his door.
he has been out for four or more years.. they told him it was c.o's visit, and the governing body have asked them to call on those whom they no longer see at the k.hall.. i guess this is an easier "field" than knocking on doors that never open, or where they are told "not interested".. my friend bill though, was not such an easy call.
apparently he managed to get in about 1914 being rubbish, the bible not being the word of god, because we cannot trust it, 1919 being rubbish as to the choosing of the fds and several other telling points.. i liked particularly that he said to them they were rather hypocritical asking householders to examine their faith, when jw's were simply not allowed to !.

JW.ORG link
by Pete Zahut ini was thinking about the thousands upon thousands of posts that have been made on this site over the years and all the valuable information contained in them.
i was also thinking about all the years that this site was in existence before i stumbled upon it.. i wondered if from now on, if each person making a post on this site, put the words jw.org at the end of the title of their post or somewhere in the body of their post itself, if it would somehow drive those who are looking for jw.org to this site instead?.
for example "what's up with those new literature carts ?

The fact that this post doesn't appear in a google search under JW.org gives us yoour answer. I do note that JWfacts.com ranks highly and my little site is up to page 3 already

Some JW on the street, my reaction...
by sp74bb intoday i had some of my worst experiences.
i saw a jw group walking on preaching.
one of them knows me well, we share a lot of week-end on rbc.. my first reaction was rage and nerves.

It gets easier, I'm at the laughing stage. I was in town today and saw a JW, I smiled and they showed no expression or emotion, I found that hilarious. It's like her face was completely numb. Then I bumped into an ex JW and we chatted for about half an hour and parted with big smiles and laughing.

Your Experience with Resigning as an Elder
by committeechairman ini'm considering resigning as an elder.
i'm not planning to fade or stop as one of jehovah's witnesses, just stop serving as an elder.. i have responsibility in the congregation and in circuit, district, rbc, etc.
and i'm completely exhausted.

I stopped as part of my fade. They tried all sorts to stop me resigning, suggesting I take a break from my responsibilities and not step down. I insisted on resigning and they still wouldn't accept it and waited for the next CO visit, I met with him and told him I was resigning and he accepted it.

I didn't go, the last time I was in a KH was for a memorial, I had been fading for some time before and as I recall the talk was torture to sit through, not just for me but for most there from the looks on people's faces. That was a few years ago. Last night I had a nice quiet night in.

Which of the SEVEN stages of post JW behavior are you in right now?
by Terry in1. they done me wrong.
2. i'm depressed.
3. i'm gonna act like an apostate (smoke, drink, drugs, sex, outrageous behavior).

I'm at the stage of being me. I've suffered with depression for 12 years, the deep abyss only occurs occasionally now. Is there such a thing as passive activism? I know it's a bit of an oxymoron but I keep quiet about JWs most if the time but once I do get going its all guns blazing.
Kate, hang in there, you are going through life changing stuff, small changes can be hard enough so just keep taking it one day at a time.

Did you count the time for your "hour talk"?
by compound complex inhi fellow speakers (sorry, brothers only!):.
my first public talk, given in my early 20s, was actually a twenty-minute part of a symposium talk.
my pioneer partner friend and i each had twenty minutes and a "servant" had the concluding part.

I did, but did you also count your preparation time? LOL
