When I used the word Hypocrite, I was refering to those who were responsible for the policy that I could not collect baseball cards because it was idol worship. I doublt the average bethelite was responsible for that policy. I was speaking of those at the very top, the policy makers, the members of the governing body who happened to be the last bethel speaker that I heard. It is those who seek all of the worship for themselves, not the average bethelite.

Bethel speakers are like idols to JWs. Always made me sick how they would all line up to get a chance to shake their hand after a talk that I found incredibly boring. They are like rock stars to the average JW. Oh but I couldn't put up a poster of any sports figures in my room growing up because it was idol worship.
They just want ALL the worship for themselves. Hyprocrites!

What a great buisness model.
1) Buy rundown property
2) Renovate it with free labor
3) Sell it a few years later for huge tax free profits.
4) Repeat

Just why did He create Mosquitoes?
by jean-luc picard inso if blood is so precious in gods sight, just why did he create mosquitoes?.

Little known fact, god cursed the mosquitoes to suck blood for eternity because it was the mosquitoe that put the snake up to deceiving Eve into eating the forbidden fruit. It's true, an angel whispered it into my ear when I asked god for an answer to this quesiton.
Oh...

Things you did to pass the time at meetings/service/assemblies/conventions/memorials
by OneDayillBeFree ini'm currently at the meeting again... i'm always in the back working the sound cause everyone else can't seem to work it and i'm mostly on my phone reading jwn or writing, or doodling or sometimes i just stare at the audience to see who's falling asleep or daydreaming.
its really the only way i can still sit through these things.. but i remember getting the number of a girl i used to like at one district convention and we would text each other during the program and talk about how boring it was.. i also remember sneaking out of a circuit assembly and going to see a car show that was going on right next door.
that was fun!.

Growing up our DC were outdoors at the state fair grounds, most summers the state fair was going the same time of the DC. Spent alot of time riding rides and hanging out at the fair.
The horse stables were adjacent to the track where the DC was, sitting in that hot sun and fighting horse flys all day sucked big time.

Swearing is not allowed unless the swear word is slightly modified. For example fuck is not allowed, but dipfuck is acceptable if someone is truly acting like a dipfuck.

Has ANYONE married someone who is not a jw and been/is happy????

I think in most cases it has less to do with religeous affiliation and more to do with the compatablity of the couple. I was married to a JW for 18 years and we were just not very compatable with each other. Neither of us were truly happy. Turns out that being a JW was about the only thing we had in common.
A couple years after divorce, I met a great woman who was brought up as a baptist, I was already an exJW at that point. We were very compatable and have been together for over 10 years. We are both very happy. In hind sight, I wish the first marriage would have ended sooner, but that is not so easy in JW land.

If you think about it, he is really using you by keeping you hidden in the closet. If you get mad enough about this, you should report all of his sexual activity to the elders so they can give him another 12 months on the side line. What an asshole.

The end of most relationships suck, sorry for that. However the truth is he would always put the religion before you. That is no way to build trust in a relationship. You are lucky, you just don't know it yet.
