    The swear police are seldom on patrol . . . but a complaint will get action.

    I guess we should be able to make a point without it . . . but . . .

    All the rules are listed below the post box on every post. Though the mods are usually pretty lenient on swearing, and mild expletives are allowed, I would not press my luck with the major ones (you know, the ones that could get you a fine on a PG movie).

    But the reality is that the mods can't police every post. So if you find one offensive let the mods know (telling them where it is with the private message function (scully, Lady Lee, Simon, Angharad). Just use common sense.

    Here in the U.K swearing has become ubiquitous and boring. The "F" word is no stranger to the TV or Radio and is used freely in public. Other swear words pepper the speech of most people here.

    I think it is a shame, swearing has lost the ability to shock and is now not easily used to comic effect, but you cannot turn the clock back, the U.K kids can swear before they can say most other things.
