Befriend him...

That made me smile - I was trying to imagine what small talk with Tony might be like..
Any good conversation starters anyone??
on february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.
Befriend him...

with what is arguably the biggest change to jw life in recent decades (the scrapping of publishers counting hours) what does this lead to?.
in my mind these are the results;.
1) a massive decrease in 'preaching hours'.
Love it Stan!π
My Dad's been doing the same, but ill health has stopped him.
They only ever rang him when they wanted his report or MONEY!
basic blood questions for jehovah's witnesses.
where does the bible outlaw blood transfusions?
(acts 15:29 gen.9:4) .

A couple of years ago my jw elder father made a complete show/embarrassment of himself in front of a lovely, kind surgeon just before he had a life saving operation.
At the very end of the pre-op meeting with the surgeon she asked my father if he had any further points to make.
He then proudly and rudely told the surgeon that as a jw he didn't want any blood.
The surgeon looked totally shocked as this was the first she had heard. I bundled my dad out in his wheelchair and went back in to the surgeon.
I asked if my dad had given any written instructions to her or mentioned his religious beliefs, She said no not all all.
I said just do the op and my dad will have to make sure he treats you with more respect and courtesy in the future if he doesn't want blood etc.
I have never been more embarrassed. My father had the op and did not require blood.
His attitude towards the surgeon stank. No respect whatsoever to the surgeon whose operation was going to possibly save his life.
I told him when he came round that I would NEVER take him to a hospital or be put in that position ever again.
He looked puzzled as if he had done a great thing with the surgeon -
How many jw's go to hospital and at the 11th hour dictate to the doctors that they don't want blood without ANY PRIOR communication?
My father cannot be the only one...
a slightly tongue in cheek, but also serious roundup of jw speak and why trying to reason with them is like trying to chip through concrete with a plastic spoon.. how many can you think of??.
elder: 'yes.
i read through the material you asked me to at your judicial meeting - you're right we're both in a cult!

"Yes, I agree, our overlapping generation teaching is nowhere to be found in the bible."
this afternoon just after lunch.
i spotted 2 of the nicer elders in the congregation walking up the drive.
i didnβt answer the door.
Elders are lazy bastards,

'Your judicial committee is private, we will not tell our wives anything that we discuss here..'
even elders can be part of the new jw lite brigade these days.
they donβt need to go on door to door anymore and there is no requirement for anything really.. taking meeting parts is all dead easy you could turn up on the day with zero preparation because itβs all in the meeting workbook.. quarterly elders meetings are just old men having a good old natter just like old men do down the pub.. congregations could be likened to pubs or bars these days just without the drinks, those come at other times.. no need for territory maps, these almost went away with covid letter writing now they are extremely slow getting finished as those who still go door to door only do ten mins.. you could even voice your questions these days about things the gb say and then just say βwe canβt be dogmatic we just donβt knowβ.
i predict they will say this about 1914 soon..
We had a weirdo elder just like that in an old hall.
He's the congregation co-ordinator now - total wackjob!
uh oh, looks like the mega thread gave up the ghost, so while i investigate / fix it just continue the discussion here .... it's been a long 9 years lloyd evans / john cedars.
