Hi faundy!
I have been away from the board for too long ( about 6 years or so it seems) and I made a "HOWDY" post earlier today too. I only learned THIS MORNING about your dad, and I cried and cried that I wasn't here 18 months ago! I'm SO sorry for your loss. Right away, I started reading his "torn apart" post and I'm only on page 2 of it, so I wasn't even sure if his daughters ever got out of the Watchtower. I was PRAYING that you did before he passed on. And I pray that your sister is out too.
((((((((((faundy)))))) and hugs to your family too.
If I were you, I would buy the book titled Ghost Among Us. It is NOT a scary or morbid book. I found it to be of much comfort. You can search it on the net and read reviews if you wish before you buy or order it. It may be the comfort you need ! The auther is James Van Praagh.
I'm SO glad I popped in today to see your post and read it. For now I know who you are! Is that strange or what? !!!
Hi jourey-on,
I haven't posted reguarly since about I duuno....6 or 7 years maybe? I thought about the board last week ( because a certain person crossed my mind at the time) and this past Sunday I came to the board and actually read older posts ALL DAY LONG into the night. I had both tears and smiles reading posts.
So today I came back and decided that I may participate again. It's changed SO much though. It's busy busy busy! I registered her a few months after Simon left what we called witnet ( which was for JWs only, but anyone could read the posts) and opened his own discussion board. That was years ago!
It's amazing how many new ones are here, and how many are still here from years ago. I'm glad the board didn't close!

my teenage daughter suggested to me that certain kids in well connected families were regular pot smokers.
it was always hush hush because of their connections but evidently it was common knowledge within the "in" crowd.. i knew some adults that were on prescription pills but they had legitimate excuses for being "happy".
of course, most jws i know of, medicate themselves on booze..
Hi minimus!
We had teens ( three that I knew of) who both smoked weed and drank, but I don't know about any adults. We teens avoided the adults as much as we could. And the teens who were thought to tell on us( I was in with the "in" crowd for a few months), just werent invited to "hang out" with us. I never smoked weed ( did cigarettes though) back then but I did drink. I never ratted on anyone who I knew was toking, nor drinking. The teens who were in the "out" crowd may have been doing the same things that the "in" crowd were doing for all anyone knows!

Nice to meet you too Lozhasleft!
Hi Blondie! I'm doing very well, thank you!
I see you are still doing the Watchtower commets every week. That's is cool!
Hope all is well with you and yours.
I find that I don't rmember how to use the discussion board options, such as how to quote and stuff. I need to learn all over again. DOH!

the watchtower has been known for over 130 years as a great scriptural cherry-picker.
they pick out disparate unrelated verses and combine them to support the wackiest of wacky doctrines.. on the other hand there are many scriptures they almost never address, whether because they contradict wt doctrine or because they simply don't have a clue what they mean or how to spin them to the wt advantage.. one of these is revelation 19:1 that mentions a "great crowd" "in heaven.
" the only time it is ever brought up it is dismissed.
Mark 5:19,20 NWT
19 However, he did not let him, but said to him: “Go home to your relatives, and report to them all the things Jehovah has done for you and the mercy he had on you.” 20 And he went away and started to proclaim in the De·cap′o·lis all the things Jesus did for him, and all the people began to wonder.
