Another thing to consider....Debit card machines incurr monthly fees from the banks. Who is paying for this? If someone donates $10, they are being misled. Their $10 is not going to be fully invested in the borg and its publishing company. 2-10% will go to the banks, the other "6" of the "666". So... are we being part of the "666" by contributing to their banks via this arrangement at the conventions?
I have decided to not make contributions anymore, I'll keep my $10 and buy a six pack instead

if witnesses believe that we truly are in the end of the end of the last days, and they believe the work they do will really save lives, and most can just make a few adjustments and get 30 hours, why dont they do this more often??

to me if you really care about people you would not wait until you have a special title or badge to wear of look at me im pioneering, you would do the most you can every month and not care about recognition from men.
You are right on. That's what I've raised before, why the need for all these special titles? Why can't we just simply eliminate these special titles they give to these people? Elders? Pioneers? Special Pioneers? COs? How about instead we call them slaves? That's what Jesus said, we were slaves not masters. He even told us he came to serve, not to be served.
Wait... but then these little self proclaimed spiritual brothers and sisters would add adjectives to their slave title, slave class I, slave class II, and so on.
Most of the people I know that are MS or elders or pioneers are in it for the recognition. Not to serve and try to really help people, they are helping their already low self steem and love the glorification they receive from others. But nothing will change, on the contrary, they'll keep coming up with other titles to incentive people to try and "grow" within the organization.

i really think that staying "in" just for family and friends is doing a number on my health.
i am currently in therapy for the mental part of all of this but i am phsyically sick every time i have to get ready to go to the meeting or service.
i get heart palpitations as well.
It's funny (not actually funny funny, but you know what I mean) I also do suffer of heart palpitations...what the heck? Every time I feel like just not going to the meetings I get into an argument with my wife. I really just want to tell her how I truly feel but that would kill her. She knows I'm not comfortable with a lot of things and she just tries to "encourage" me to keep trying.

Unless someone takes the time to browse through jw.org no one would see this "new light". No one in my hall knows about it and if they do, they probably are more confused than anyone else and would rather not ask any questions. .
So, how unfair is it for everyone else that does not have a computer or internet access? When is the borg going to say something about it? What kind of love does this show to the rest of us that rely on "spiritual nourishment" from the borg? This has really bugged me since it came out and I try to let everyone know, that I can anyways, and have them do a little google search for this new light... I'm sure they'll end up on JWN and get the real truth.
i wanted to share some news from a family friend (he is my wt mole - still an elder, hates the shenanigans, but is still hanging on for all the reasons often discussed on this site) i know the various rumors have been discussed on here, and unfortunately the rumor about the conventions being eliminated weren't true!
(what a burden on the jw community - financial hardship for a good portion of them, guilting people into actually quitting their job to attend, physically exhausting for many, etc...etc......).
anyway, he told me that the district convention is being moved to 11 weekends at the jw-owned circuit assembly hall, and they are no longer planning on renting stadiums/large facilities in our area (northern ohio/southern michigan).
Actually, in Texas they have started doing that. They stadium type conventions still happen but only where there are too many assemblies scheduled or something. Nevertheless, DCs are being held more and more in the assembly hall where I live.

my wife went to the sunday meeting and said nearly everyone had ipads (tablet pcs) or laptops during the watchtower study with downloaded watctowers.. if they provide free wi-fi and coffee, i might start going again..

There's this "brother" that even has a Coach cover on his Ipad... that's in addition to his Coach "man purse", yeah he is married but I'm not sure I buy his reasons to be married with his tight suit and thick frame glasses.
Anyways, do these brothers really do it for convenience or for show? I think they are trying to show off.
