Isaiah 2:2,3 Thoughts?
by problemaddict ini thought i would bring this to the horde.
there is wisdom in the multitude of counselors after all.
this scripture has been given to me as "irrefutable", in a discussion i am rather enjoyign with someone fairly high up, that has their doubts.

What ever happened too.....
by problemaddict in...the real jw apologists?
not the ones that pop on here and have a go with the athiests, but the ones that defended their posision at least with some form of scholarly notion and education.
you know.... greg stafford (last seen being clearly an apostate....but not getting disfellowshipped for starting another religion.....odd) site abandon for months.. jehovah.to - the haven for the learned with such heavies as hal flemmings, solomon landers, and heinz schmidt.

New Light: 3rd heaven?
by problemaddict inforgive me if this has been covered.
last year i did a synopsis of the convention, but my wife decided she did not want to go this year (thats a win), so i didn't either.
a good friend of mine however tipped me to something in david splanes talk.. its pretty mild, but seems a bit wacky.

A friend gets his last check from a JW company.....
by problemaddict inso basically he is a subcontractor for a company that owes him money, and has been paying him very poorly for his service.
(industry wide problem).
so he e mails them a venting e mail, saying he will no longer take work, giving them a date he expects the pay to be cut or he leins properties etc.... he gets a response, they go back and forth, and the last response they send the check and at the bottom post a scripture (he didn't remember which one) with the phrase "and we will continue to serve our god jehovah".

How the Supreme Courts decision could spill into the JW world.
by problemaddict inso in the 5-4 decision today, the courts said an employer could not be forced to cover things mandated by the aca (specifically birth control was the point of contention), if doing so would violate their religious beliefs.. nuts.
just nuts.. here is what ruth ginsberg wrote in her dissent.
its 35 pages, but this stood out to me for obvious reasons.. "would the exemption...extend to employers with religiously grounded objections to blood transfusions (jehovah's witnesses); antidepressants (scientologists); medications derived from pigs, including anesthesia, intravenous fluids, and pills coated with gelatin (certain muslims, jews, and hindus); and vaccinations[?

I just noticed this tactic
by problemaddict inin reading terrys latest post, if made me think of something that exists and many of us have experienced but i have not really put into a logical thoughts process before.
in terrys 4 facts everyone should know about jw's, the second one referrs to the walsh trial where unity is said to be more important than truth, in no uncertain terms.. this made me think about how one would bring up this fact.
my mind wandered to the beginning of my fade, when inevitably, many of us open up our mouths and say too much.

Yahoo Answers
by problemaddict inso i went over there for the first time ever just to kind of check it out.
i am shocked by the large amount of jw's on there.
(i am less shocked that they are copying and pasting the jw.org website and refferencing it, without ever answering any questions).. my thought is this.....is the new attention to jw.org going to embolden jw's to start preaching via the web?
