Elders finally took me to the back room...

after several months of leaving the meetings as soon as they ended or only staying for "the first meeting" then leaving the "second part", the elders finally cornered me at last night's meeting.. they said they were concerned about me and that being that i am a young brother in a recently divided congregation they saw so much potential in me to help out the congregation and become a ms.. i told them i was thankful for their thinking of me to help the congregation but that at the moment i could not due to my job.

then the began asking personal questions that got on my nerves.. they asked where i worked and how much i made.

they asked if i was going to college and what i was studying and for how long.

Hey man. So you have already gotten a bevy of advise. You handled it very well. Even when we fade, we still find ourselves emtionally subject to elders sometimes. Its kind of engrained in us. If most people asked you those questions you would jsut tell them to go to hell, but because it was elders, you feel obligated to entertain their questions, even if just for a minute.

Here is the thing to remember. You can always say no. Thats it. Can we come by? No thank you. Can you step back here with us? No I don't want to do that but thanks for thinking of me. Are you sinning? No, I'm fine...have to go now.

Treat them like you would any other person, and watch how your world opens up.

i was wondering do you ever miss certain jw's?

i mean not all but just some, becuase even though we may rant and rave against jw's at times.

we have to remeber that for those that were born in the jw's theywere like family.which is why it is so hard at for me to let go completely.. although i have been out for about 5 yrs and it feels good.

I am still in, but have kind of made my intentions known. I am fortunate that my friends have not felt as though they had to leave me or treat me differently. Wether it holds up is another thing alltogether.

i've been inactive for 3 months now and my husband and i are going the fading way.

i was born and raised in this religion and now after almost 30 years, they have taken most everything from me.

Ona side point, I actually don't have any problem witht he use of Jehovah. I think there are some compelling reasons as to why it could be accurate, and at the very least "Jah" is scritural.

So make sure you really put the time into research, and you will figure out what you really think. I am still working on that.

my husband had gotten into a fight with a couple of victims of different pedophiles, he said in all his years of elderhood, "men and women who were sexually assualted came forward when they were old enough, they did not wait for decades to report they were abused.

you must have some kind of false memory or you are just trying to bring shame to the congregations.

Ah young love!

Find out everything you can about JW's on line. Do some real research. She likes you, but is riddled with guild because JW's are forbidden to marry outside their faith, and touching, kissing, and other such things are grounds for discipline. Yeah you heard me. She hold hands with you, she gets in trouble with their leaders.

So I would take the run advise. if you have become close, you should be able to have an honest conversation with her. if she can't have an honest conversation, and you guys are only playing these games, you are too young and quit tripping off this one chick. There will be others amigo.

A couple things. The "celestial chariot" is an aggregate of the "heavely organization". This would include Jehovah, his son who reigns (and is probably on that throne), and the co-rulers. Or maybe Jesus is that big angel on the right. Who knows.

One thing is for sure though. Pictures matter to WT conductors. Common phrases are "what does this picture show us", and "what is the slave trying to show us here".

I rmemeber a thread here from an elder, who said at one of the large elder trainings, they had a chart they would write on a white board every day and refer to. He said there were 9 things between Jehovah and the publishers, and he joined this religion because they told him it would give him the closest relationship to God possible.

So the photo does matter. Does it matter they are over Africa? I don't think so. Does it matter the chairs go nice to not nice? I think it was probably just natural for the illustrators to reflect what we all would see with our minds eye in corporate structure.

I think Chaserious is picking up ont he fact that the video is clearly PERSONAL.

As well it should be. So the question is, how do we get this type of information to the proper media outlets? The dateline seemed to barely make a bump and is well forgotten. How do we show them doubling down on the policies that have failed?

Thanks guys will do. Of course the bible has no dates, so we only can use absolute dates related to biblical events. Its my guess that these absolute dates tend to be the ones everyone has an issue with.

quentin robburts has been on jw-net off and on for over 6 years and he is one of my oldest and most loyal friends.. his wife called me awhile ago and gave me the news.. quentin was rushed to the hospital's emergency room with acute renal failure and congestive heart failure.. .

this does not surprise me for the following reason.

his pain doctor put him on oxycontin last thursday.

Wow, I seem to have made it out alright..

hi, new member here, but i've lurked for a while.. for obvious reasons, i won't give too many details about myself, but i thought i'd share my story of what might in the end have been the easiest fade in recorded history.

it's going to be a wall of text, and i'm writing it mostly for myself to get it out of my system, but it is, of course, a pretty open forum, so any comments and most questions are welcome.. here goes:.

Welcome to the board, and thanks for sharing. I'm glad your life remains in tact. Any real friendships that have been compromised? I heard you mention your family, but not many friends. You are among friends here. Some believe in the bible, some don't. But everyone is united in helping people be able to move on with their life.

My situation was close to yours. I was always sort of a trouble maker. I was an apologist on some levels. The brothers decided to "lighten my load" because of something very silly. Rather than respond the way they were herding me, I called the branch and embarrased them. They then went on the war path. Mentally I couldn't handle some things before that, but there was no real telling me that so I started shooting off at the mouth.

That didn't help. I haven't reported for 6 months as of this month. Haven't been to a meeting. Nobody has called or come by. I think I might be ok too. The wife is willing to have some conversations, and has intimated things she doesn't agree with.

So hopefully that will happen with you eventually too.
