  Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread

  this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

  latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

  the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

  Closing meeting or gathering places is not panic just good procedure to stop unneeded spread. In a couple of months this thing will be seen as the biggest over blown fraud. It may even have a back lash when the next one hits people will say ya remember the BS of the Corona virus and not be vigilant

  This is getting so over blown its crazy. Precautions sure, Don't go in crowds, don't shake hands ect wash hands don't touch face and the rest. But many people are reporting they had only symptoms of a light cold and got over it. Total 41 deaths in USA. And most of those 77% are from a nursing home in Washington state. Also driving the panic is the leftist press. They are so desperate to bring down Trump they are using this as a hysteria panic to try to blame it all on Trump. Its mostly BS. Its is serious. So is the seasonal flu. But the reaction to this is getting just stupid.

  if you haven’t watched the joe rogan podcast dealing with this virus, you should.. i’m wondering if the deluded gb will continue to schedule meetings of large groups of dubs.

  they shouldn’t and neither should any other churches.. i can only cringe as i imagine groups of people coming together at mega-churches and conventions and conferences ( if you’re pentecostal ) and infecting each other while believing they are safe.. be smart everyone.

  Prophets? no but history has dealt with this type of thing and worse before. Panics cause people to do stupid things. Selling off stocks the way they have been is not thinking straight. Once can buy puts but you just don't know if its going to keep dropping. You can also sell covered calls but same thing but to buy a call such as XOM at 22.5 strike price, which means for those who are not familliar with options is I can call it in or buy XOM 100 shares at 22.5 dollars a share any time in two years or just under to Jan 22 2022 and for that privilege I pay 17 dollars. I bought PSX call for 14.90 a share and can call it in any time between now and Jan 22 2022 for 35 dollars a share. I bought BUD for 18 call Jan 22 2022 to call in at 25 a share. Duk at 39 a share to call in jan 20 2022 at 45 a share. Using options allows you to leverage your money. I control blocks of 100 shares for a certain time at a certain price. If anyone has the ability jump in now. As Buffett said, when blood is in the water dive in head first, when people are all diving in head first get out. This is a generation thing or bigger. I did this in the 08 crash. I saw homes that sold for 250000 or a quarter of a million in Fla selling for 65k. I sold out in Kansas and moved to Fla bought a home and condo in Sarasota three miles form Siesta key. I rented it out for 6 years and then sold it for double what I paid for it. Same with my home. Doubled my money and my home I am currently in was free and clear on profit.

  The death tolls are not that bad or as bad as predicted. Its repetitively low. Most of the deaths have been at the point of origin. Most of the deaths in the USA have occurred in one nursing home in Washington state. Another silver lining is the stock market. I just wired money into my account Ameritrade and am buying deep in the money calls. This is so low its crazy and people selling right now will kick them-self in the ass in a year. The panic is so over blown its crazy. If the market dumps again its more money again and more deep calls out two years.

  I think you are predicting more infections than there will be at anyone time. Even china is reporting its shutting down some of the hospitals that are dedicated to this virus. I don't think its going to be as bad as all that. I don't see it. Diseases like measles are highly infectious, You can walk into a room and not touch or be near anyone and contract the measles, You can not contract this virus this way. People are getting over excited.
