  it's my understanding that the gb took out the text about the adulterous woman at mark 7:53 - 8:11, (this the all important verses where jesus says the one with out sin cast the first stone.

  ) sighting that it wasn't found in the oldest text.

  which text are they talking about, the codex sinaiticus?

  at one time, wt took these verses seriously, ,. I remeber comments to the effect, that in the law, the first of 2 witnesses had to throw the first stones. and nobody wanted to admit that they were eye witness (with lids, covers closed) to an adulterous act.

  bsw. There are other gems to confront JC with, like: "judgement will start with the house of god," leaders will have a more severe judgement" will be judged the way you are judging. my reply to them, you can do what you want, but remember, you are only judging yourselves.

  poison is at work in any argument with jehovah's witnesses.

  this poison has little to do with the beauty of watchtower logic or the tasty morsels of jw reasoning.. the poison is odorless and tasteless and it has absorbed into their core premise: scripture interpretation directed by jehovah.. if you buy into the core premise (somebody possesses a divinely granted access to an infallible source of truth) you are already dead in the water.. that is the deal breaker.

  false premises lead always to false conclusions.. stop right here.. the core misrepresentation of christianity solely rests in accepting the bible as the inerrant word of almighty god.

  The bible as we have it today is flawed, not because we do not have the originals, because one way or the other the details we read are not jiving with reality. Would the originals read so differently that these errors are corrected?

  4. Why waste time arguing scriptural interpretation when no scripture of any kind is demonstrably DIVINE?

  because if it can be shown, proven, that the interpreting authority has erred, contradicted scripture [flawed or not], their claim to divine mission is shattered.

  It is like proving the alibi of an accused to be flawed, a fraud, a lie, although it turns out, there never was a crime committed; and the whole affair was staged to get publicity, money, fame. double lies proven. Prove black and white reality.

  Time, if you have it, well spent.

  it's biggest problems are associated with its lack of genuine love and concern for the rank& file.

  the average person doesn't need a food critic to tell them their hamburger is shit, in the same manner the average person can discern kindness and love.

  gbs fake love and concern is evident in the way head office deals with victims of sexual abuse by jw clergy.

  How smart were the ancients?

  growing up as a jw, i always thought the ancients were scientific morons who knew next to nothing.

  ashamedly, i used to run around citing isaiah 40:22 as proof of the bible's 'divine authorship' because it talked about "the circle of the earth".

  as though this were somehow an unknowable before spaceflight.

  LDS leadership regards "intellectuals" as the greatest threat to their religion. If a high level apostasy scandal was threatened in his case, perhaps he was framed to shame him on a personal matter. With Mormons many females past, modern snooping, that should not be difficult.

  i may have missed it, but i just heard from a local elder that there are "new" instructions for how the two one day assembly's are to be conducted and handled......fifty-nine pages worth.

  he said they will now all be put on the same as the regional conventions.

  did i miss that letter/orders from "mother"?

  how do you allow a localised and controlled use of an intranet, allowing people to access a controlled flow of information, but preventing them from accessing information from the external internet (world wide web)?.

  not long ago, computer engineers at enno rey netzwerke in the german city of heidelberg were able to examine an ullim (nk brand name) tablet.

  what they discovered is that all the (western) efforts to leak anti-regime information into nk, to take advantage of a perceived increase in computing in nk, are likely useless as the regime's scientists and engineers have been able to modify the hardware and software to virtually close off information not approved by the regime.

  Voice from the past: To me, this is an amazing zing. The Nazis had issued the mandatory 'Volks -Empfaenger" a basic radio that could not receive foreign stations. But they had mobile units that could detect dedicated people who had superhet radios tuned to BBC. superhet units that had to be custom build, for some of which I was used as an innocent 10 year old to smuggle on the railroad to wealthy customers.

  Genesis chapter one can make your life meaningful and joyful

  literal reading of genesis chapter one brings no benefit because you would see god as speaking to fishes and birds (genesis 1:22) which we know is not possible.

  however, with “a king’s mind” if one looks for the implied truth behind its literary allusions it may bring immense benefit.

  (proverb 25:2) for example:.

  Bible writers just were not among the smart ones, or the most avid readers of science news. like the authors of the first century scripts that offered the fake news of Satan showing Jesus "all the kingdoms of the earth from a really high mountain" on a clear day. Einstein predicted bending of light rays around globes much later.
