The JWs don't like Chess
by mickbobcat ini can remember when i joined the chess class in middle school.
my mother brought out an older watchtower article about how chess is a game of war.
since i left the cult in 95 i have slowly lost any connection to the cult.

Chess is beyond the mental capacity of most. rdn:
but not all. there is a case of one who was not satisfied with the mental torture of the board game, so he invented 3 Dimensional chess. mate.

On the appointment in 1919 of the wt writers as the faithful slave by the king of 1914, answering his own question of Math 24, I would add,:
he based his decision on the wt teaching at the time:
"---millions now living will never die". and
his approval is continuing, because that traching has not changed is still basically valid today.

Are the Creative days 7000 years long?
by Steve J inwhere does the idea that the creative days of the genesis account were 7,000 years long come from?.
genesis doesn't suggest that they were specific time periods, but shows that one "day" extended into others.
i feel that the clue is in the words; "and there was an evening and there was a morning, a first day.

some wt writers seem still secretly to hang on to the "rest day" ides, in that they want to help the deity to finish the mess by the time the last day ends. Not to drag it into the 8st day.
They always misquote scripture to saying the final test, execution of judgement happens at the end and not "after the 1000 years are ended"
The whole thing is a fairy tale. The Earth was not created at the beginning .
Ladies are the final masterpiece though.

FOR EVERY CURRENT JEHOVAH'S WITNESS
by JohnTron72 inthe scripture said you must worship with spirit and truth.
the publications you read which are called spritual food from jehovah, are written by those who are supposed to be the closest to god and are anointed.
they claimed for decades to you that it was the creator's promise that those living during 1914 would live to see the fullfilment of the promise of a new earth.

So they do not follow 1st Century Christianity as they claim.
s3: and like in last week's wt " study ", they speak of observing Jesus' commands, and the he disappears and it becomes the other J. and
truly they only "observe", watch from distance, especially when the bread and wine is passed.

JT, welcome. while The GB was still spirit directed***, they explained it all by making the last generation, into 2 overlapping groups (like the Elijah/ Elisha deal).
Part of those 2 groups will be still alive in 2075.
*** they have stopped claiming that in the baptism "oath" that jws swear.

WHY would Religion not flourish before the Flood?
by waton inor why did they kill abel?
with mother eve still telling her talking snake story?
they killed abel, because he killed the invention of religion, at least before the "new light" rainbow regime.

t did flourish.
SB: this thread was intended to be bible based humour and I did not read anything in Moses 1-9 about religion before the flood, Gobekli tepe notwithstanding.
Note the irony that in the scriptures, religion is a rainbow affair. (every one sees a different rainbow). ephemeral with supposed pot of gold as real estate base.
jah wanted BLOOD sacrafices
P: he did not tell them to do any sacrifices, it was their idea. the bloody mess came later, on second thought. They were all vegetarians, why keep flocks? to knit socks?

or why did they kill Abel? With Mother Eve still telling her talking snake story?
They killed Abel, because he killed the invention of religion, at least before the "new light" rainbow regime. because
Religion thrives on wealth, offerings. " contributions" and when
Abel managing to get his "choice pieces" of fertilizer*** seemingly accepted as the choice of the deity, -- piling offal on the altars became the rage.
*** Humans, not even lions, hyenas, dogs, would instinctevely eat meat, bones. proof ?: see the Ark's loading list.
Imagine religions as Garbage collectors. Composting companies. instead of keeping the pot of Gold at the real estate base of the rainbow.
The moral of the story? religion are rainbow companies, they can vanish at any moment. taking the hope of future wealth and paradise real estate with them.

Are Jehovah Witness willing to end studies?
by Maria Nieves inhttps://www.jw.org/en/library/magazines/watchtower-study-october-2020/how-to-conduct-a-bible-study-that-leads-to-baptism-part-two/.
i recently came across the above watchtower article which spoke about conducting bible studies which lead to baptism.
it progressed to say that if the bible study instructor does not see growth within the student or the desire to work towards baptism, then the studies should end.

In the years leading up to 1975, the early 70ies, a limit of 6 month was put up per wt instructions on duration of a bible "study". period. after that, with no baptism the hapless candidate was left to face Armageddon on his own. ha ha. j
The demonstrations of "studies", in the week's sales practice sessions are wishful thinking, destined for the publisher themselfs. No intelligent person will allow himself to be subjected to tha childish question and answer routine.
