The wonder of scientific research

this has possibly been brought up before however here goes.. constant reference is made by many posters to scientific research as being the only way to prove something factual that would otherwise have to be taken on faith.

there actually seems to be "faith" in scientific findings.. my experience over many years is that most scientific research is fake.

nothing oftencomes of the big announcements made to raise more money.. money, prestige, pride, human error, suppositions etc., are rife amongst the scientific community.. i realise that there have been many advances over hundreds of years but humankind is in a mess, although very different to even a century ago.. the medical profession now has vaccinations for everything, antiviral drugs etc.

amicable , You are not talking about scientific research, pure and simple, but about the human side of it. That is like the wt illustration in the wt's "--bible teach" book which denies that a pupil can improve of the understanding of an aged math teacher.

Look how far we have come from the time that our common ancestors were swinging in the trees.

Exploring at the limits of our confined world, can only improve our understanding of any possible beyond:-- in time, energy, laws and dimensions. Revealed religion has not even come close, still stuck in thousand year old myths, fables and stories or their variants.

Remove all application of scientific research from your life, and see where you would be. dont let the Pilt downs get you down.

Truth is not unattainable

seeing corrupt rulers creating war to divert attention of the public, almighty arms industry loving conflicts, religious leaders finding religions as a means for easy income ….etc one may conclude that truth is not attainable.

yet there is a place where truth remains hidden for the seeker to experience his thrill—in the vocabulary of different languages.. when i was studying in mount holyoke, i had the opportunity to mingle with many foreign students and thus to my surprise came to know certain words are like a treasure of truth in at least one language among the vast reservoir of languages which means you have to continue your search for the truth of one word till you get it through different languages.

for example, take the word ‘king’ and start seeing the meaning of it in all the languages and you will find it means a person ruling with dynastic root, then suddenly you find in one language, the word ‘king’ is the summarized form of this sentence: “one who brings delight to all of his subjects and keeps them (of various interests) reconciled to each other.” to mention a few other words which my search took me to the truth:.

WTBTS and donations - do you remember this gem?

no organisation can operate without funds - that's a given.

however, when it comes to 'suggestions' on how one can make donations to support the org with its aims they are on a higher level.

in light of the recent video whereby they are looking for donations for a disaster fund, do you remember this gem from yesteryear?.

In a "Kingdom Ministry" a while back there was a reminder to executors of estates, , that any items willed ro the Society should be handed over. Evidently not just the corporation is benefitting the harvest.

When thinking about wt legal work, their in house trained lawyers, think money matters. it does.

only just noticed on the jw borg home page that matt 24:14 is quoted with a full stop instead of a comma after the word earth then the closing quotation marks.. isn't that incorrect?.

by claiming to be the sole dispenser of "spiritual food" since 1919 that frees them from anything published prior to that, potentially that covers ~ 6000 years of human bibliical history. Only their word matters for jws now. no w ay.

How do they get away with "New Light"?

one thing that bothers me greatly is the fact that they can change their policies and beliefs and just say its "new light" and no one bats an eyelid.. there are many scriptures such as isaiah 40:8 "the word of god will last to time indefinite.

" or hebrews 6:18 "it is impossible for god to lie".

if he is "spirit directing" the borg then there should be no need for new light..

The problem with new light is not that there is new fields of knowledge that are illuminated. new facts discovered, but that wt claims their current knowledge is of divine origin, biblical (inspired) and holy, (spirit directed).

The Bible teach book to which content have to ascribe to or baptism, teaches that the wt teacher has the last laugh at the blackboard, teacher gives the marks. truth or not.

Wt is preaching the middle kingdom.

1) not the one of Colossians 1;13, --3) Not the 1000 year kingdom rule of Christ, , but

2) the kingdom of 1914, lasting only to the millennium, currently predicted to end not later than 2075. nowhere to be directly found in scripture.

How do they get away with disfellowshipping members for pointing out the flaw in the old "new light" and then, when that has been rescinded, not giving credit for the warning and automatically re-instating the whistleblower (latter day Joseph really) with honors?

This is going to come back and bite them, as it did the starving, humiliated 10 other brothers. . - if there was truth a talking snake story.

listener, thank you for posting the link to wt o7 15. -- What can be deduced from the text is, that wt has gone back to the interrupted Great Tribulation of past times. 1950s.

The tribulation will be halted to allow the final sealing and departure od the last remnant of partakers to heaven, and then the final attack on the remaining "Other Sheep" , The goats already having been consigned to Gehennah before? Wt calls these events having an "overlap" ( no kidding). Jesus' speech finishes with the sheep and goats though, as included in all these things.

Here is where wt has gone off the rails with it's anointed generation. because if the partakers go to heaven after the initial interrupted phase of the Great Tribulation, leaving the OS to take the brunt of the final attack, Armageddon even, They are not the Generation that Jesus spoke about in Math 24:34. because

Jesus said this generation will not pass away. wt contradicts that in your link. according to the society writers, , the anointed will pass away to heaven at the beginning of the GT. before the sheep are attacked, tested, judged, enter everlasting life. everlasting life not for false prophets.

Strip off the old personality

yesterday’s watchtower talked about how by becoming a jw it enabled “worldly” people to ‘strip off the old personality’ and make really significantly good changes in their life.. paragraph named 4 individuals (anonymous names of course and probably embellished tales)) sakura, ribeiro, stephen, and hans.

their lives changed for the good because they found god or because they became jw’s---right?.

so on the way home from this wt meeting, my wife commented to me how wonderful our brotherhood is and how it helps people who would otherwise be ‘lost’ n this world.

And AA can help the alcoholic JWs that the repeated shunning cycle made worse.
